S&G Patent Office (Design Submissions page)
As of June 16, 2015, we will no longer be accepting any model submissions due to the fact that this thread never gets posts and because accepting models made by other people causes the pack to lose its unique style. This forum is considered dead and any posts to it will be ignored.

Same deal as the suggestions page, but strictly for actual weapon designs.

In order to submit a design, you'll need to download Clavus' SWEP Construction Kit and use it to design a weapon of your choice. You must make both a View Model and a World model for it to be accepted. After completing your design, take screenshots of both the v and w models and either upload them to Imgur and share the link or just link us to the shots you have on your profile page in the comments section below. Feel free to make a name and description!

The more detailed and well thought out your design is, the more likely we are to include it.

After we get to the point where we're going to start using other peoples' submitted designs, we'll contact you if we like your design and get the raw design file from you.

The weapon in question is shown in the four most recent screenshots.

I had it named 'Breen's Longarm,' but I'm sure there's a much better name than that.
Also, I cannot come up with a description for the life of me right now.

Pretty much. Hopefully more people will decide to submit stuff instead of just asking for weapon functions.

Really, really nice model. We might include it in our next update with some minor aeshtetic changes, but the overall function of it being a gigantic shotgun will still be the main focus.

Jesus, that's a really nice model. Don't worry about the PHX stuff, I can texture over it if need be. Also, if you can't make world models, I'll definitely do them.
I'm going to agree, those are some pretty badass models. Out of curiosity, how many models did you use for the Monstrous Mushmaker?
That's a lot less than I expected, I was thinking it was going to be a lot more than that for some reason. It has that complex look that lots of props makes but it doesn't have too many, which is cool.

I had a thought, since you can use custom models like the fist weapons, why do you have to stick to HL2 weapons? Some of the guns in Missing Information/HL2 Beta, SMOD and/or off Gamebanana could make really good bases for further designs. Like the SMOD kick could be a weapon in itself, the Mighty Foot gun or something.

It's only because we're trying to keep the file sizes down and because if we did something like use CSS weapons or EP2 content, we'd be alienating people that don't own those games. Our future projects will be a little better in terms of content usage limitations.

Here's one of my ideas: The 'shocking' blade. This sword is flowing with electricity making it easy to kill targets with one hit (unless they're wearing armour.) Also as an added bonus; this sword has a bullet time module that slows down everything but you via right click, allowing you to kill multiple targets under a second.
