Also, the camping skills are OK, but I'd say the song of healing is OP since it can pretty much put a hero in a completely perfect status wether he is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up in a lot of ways or not, I mean, it heals, heals diseases too, heals ALL stress and removes mortality debuffs.
TL;DR: The idea of the character and his abilities are good but he needs to be nerfed since he is quite OP and can do almost anything while being a single hero
Here's how I would go about nerfing the class, besides general number reduction (he should deal less damage and heal less from his combat moves):
- Hookshot: rather than a stun, maybe it could make targets vulnerable, possibly debuffing their dodge, speed, etc
- Throw Bomb: probably shouldn't shuffle targets. The high damage should stay, but shuffling makes this move an almost mandatory pick
- Shield: guard should be the privelaged ability of tank classes, as it easily prolongs any team's lifespan. Rather than guarding, this move should mark him instead
- Red Potion: I really like this one but it's gotta be less effective
- Song of the Princess: I get what you were trying to do, but a better way to achieve that would be to use the religious class system (maybe a merry jig heals 15 to non-religious and 5 to religious or something). That OR give him a Resupply move (which really fits the classic Link vibes, always having something in the pack)
- Song of Storms: WOW this is powerful. I like the concept, my guy, but bring it down to 10 dodge, 5 accuracy. I have abused this soooo much in making my team nigh-untouchable
- Song of Healing: gonna be blunt here, this is not good, it is not fun. Instead, try something like Heal 50% max HP and remove mortality debuff, costs 4 respite. This way you can keep this move powerful while also making it reasonable
I have only run 2 missions with this guy so far (both medium length) and only got him to level 3, so maybe I'm missing something, but that is my honest take.
My goal while making this class was having him able to do anything but dialing down some of the abilities might be a good idea.
I think I will keep Song of Healing the way it is for now, But I will be thinking about ways to change it (might remove the disease cure), I do want to keep the afflicted requirement for it though.(I really like the flavor of it)
Patch Notes:
-Shield Block-
Shield Block no longer guards allies, it now marks yourself, Shield block's buff now also starts off more powerfull but has the same strength at max rank (marks lasts for 3 rounds)
-Red Potion-
Now heals 2 HP less but buffs your healing received for 3 turns.(same buff as the arbalest healing buff)
-Throw Bomb
Removed the Shuffle effect
-Hookshot-
Lowered Stun Chance on all Ranks by 20%, should make the stun less reliable. (wanted to keep the stun but also make the pull the main reason to use this move. hope the stun nerf helps)
-Weapon Damage-
Lowered the damage from Highwayman levels to that of the Bounty Hunter, a very small nerf at higher weapon levels (A very minor nerf, Probably not even noticeable)
-Song of Healing
Removed the Disease cure
Lowered Stress healed from 200 to 100 (went a bit overboard with this ability I think)
-Song of Storms
Lowered Dodge buff to +10 and Accuracy debuff to -5 (way too strong in hindsight)
Thanks for the feedback everybody, balancing a class on your own is dificult as it is really easy to miss certain aspects.
(ps: i tought of something great! what if, instead of dying thanks to the come into our maker, he goes back a level, you know, ocarina of time, also, does he have a pt-br dub? i could help with that, (hence the text files)
How about putting some kind of Belt on or his shiled oh his back or a sword in his hand... anything really. Just so it doesnt always look like he is holding something which isnt animated.
To be honest I'm not really happy with how he looks,I'm not the best artist out there so I tried my best.
Maybe one day in the future I'll change his art assets, I think the Shieldbreaker is a much better fit for his animations (that model allows me to give him a shield)
If you decide to change him to the shieldbreaker model I'd certainly enjoy that :D
I think it would be better to buff either the accuracy or the damage. preferably the damage because that would suit the bomb better, i think.
or maybe add a burn affect or protection debuff or make it affect the entire enemy group.
I think the lastmost, at the moment.
It deals double damage against those enemy types specifically (doubling low damage doesn't make it powerful)
I've played around with the adventurer a bit and had great fun. Brings back so much memory from playing Ocarina of Time. Here's some feedback points:
Are you planning on adding in custom sound effects? Just the OGs from the N64 game would add a lot to the immersion.
I thought "hero of time" would have been a more fitting class name for Link, but maybe it's too pompous?
On his skills:
Defense seems a bit powerful, you can get almost to the prot/dodge cap by that skill alone, not even considering any other buffs from camping or e.g. man at arms.
Generally the adventurer seems very self-reliant and doesn't offer a lot of synergy with other classes which is perfectly fine because that's the way the Zelda Link is.
I also love that the Bomb does extra damage to pottery, so much flavor!
The arrow shooting animation looks a bit weird and could be improved a bit.
That's all, thanks for creating this mod!
