NPCSpawner+ Tutorial
First off, I'd just like to thank KFC for NPCSpawner+. Without it, I never would have even considered working on DateBound!

So after you have the NPC Maker 3000 (Floor or wall version, it doesn't matter), the very first thing you'll want to do is click the "input override" text box. You need to type this exact line:

insert additionalnpctypes crewmembersobff

After that, it should say "Added crewmembersobff", and then warn you about 1.3 changes. This is good; we're ready to go on to the next step.

Now you need to click on the big "GENERATE" button if you're not already there, then click on the NpcType tab. In the search bar (where the input override bar was just a moment ago), type in sobff to find the DateBound NPC type. Give it a click and then click "Activate" to confirm your changes so far! This will prevent the 1.3 changes from forcing us to input the override for that same NPC every time we open the interface.

Understandably, you probably want to do more customization than that. Now would be a good time to gather any clothes and weapons you want your NPC to use. Once you have all that prepared, you can open up the NPC Maker 3000 again and follow the instructions that KFC has laid out for you in the interface to fine-tune your NPC to your heart's content!

If you're still having any issues getting this to work with NPCSpawner+, post down below with a link to your starbound.log and I'll see if I can help!

What does this mod offer? I did not understand if this is a girlfriend/boyfriend mod for those who rp or a completetly diferent thing. I would like to get some more clarification on this. Thx, god bless.

This mod adds in a new crewmember type which has dozens of lines of new dialogue. It's originally intended for rping, yes; say you have an OC who's in a relationship. With NPCSpawner+ and this mod, you can make your OC's partner look exactly how you want and also have them act like they care about your character more than vanilla crewmembers do.

I've an issue. I spawned a female Novakid, did all the steps and whatnot for the character for her to love mine, but she spawned with a different set of clothing. Any way you can help?

I used brown gunslinger clothing, but they appear to be completely different, and red in colour

Hm. Now that is a bit puzzling.
Would you mind posting a link to your starbound.log? I'm not sure I can do much for this particular issue without it.

Sure, where can I get it? I do a fair bit of modding, but I'm not familliar with Starbound's file system

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\storage\starbound.log" most likely, if you didn't change your steam installation directory!

Sounds good, here's the link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ll4gsxy9rhs4y0m/starbound.log?dl=0

I've played Starbound since then, so I'll try to redo the process

Hm... There doesn't seem to be any inherent errors caused by the mod or NPCSpawner+, so it's probably either a mod conflict (unlikely) or a bit of engine bugginess (which can happen sometimes with NPCSpawner+; sometimes it creates "impossible" npc's which can mess with the appearance and what-not)
My suggestion would be to make the novakid lady again and see if the same thing happens; if it does, recruit her and then make a tailor. Wear the outfit you want her to wear and talk to the tailor, and that should do it!

I think I found out why I was having issues. Sometimes, different NPC types will automatically be given certain clothing, and I'm getting the incorrect clothing on the specific NPC type. Thanks for the advice, though!

Glad you got it all fixed!

I got it fixed in a way, where I could have the character use her specific clothing, but not with the NPC type I hoped for.
