the Research Tree, only needs to load one time, and then when you make a new game, it loads it up instantly as though it remembers it...
so if there is a way to make it on a per-save basis, (addressing your issue too), like with ogre stack settings and other mods, then maybe there is also a way to refer to it whenever a game is loaded up again, without it needing to re-generate the whole tree_creation process?
in theory = if we dont add new mods to an existing save game, research tree loads up in seconds :)
also researchpal has same issue but it loads every time I load game
it's just that ive noticed that if i play a save game, and then go to the main menu, and start a new game (or vice versa) the research button loads instantly the 2nd time around, as it keeps it in memory. thats what gave me the idea above :)
actually i had posted on the pal thread why i switched over to research tree, just in case you fancy a long read :)
