meeting the dwarven king, act 2
hello. i'm on act 2, stoneguard village. i convinced giants (by intimidation) to leave, dwarves seem to be happy and all and let me enter their village, but their king won't meet me, his guard says i need diplomatic credentials for that.

now i checked some walkthrough and it looks as though i missed a big chunk of content by intimidating giants, since i don't meet any duergar assassins or somesuch and i never get teleported into kings quarters or whatever (i'm not sure how right is this, it's just what i learned from some walkthrough).

i don't have any saves left prior to my intimidating them giants, so i wonder what to do in order to speak with the dwarven king. any suggestions?

Diplomatic credentials sounds like something you'd acquire back in Fairloch from the nobility there -- in particular do you have a Letter of Marque?

no idea mate. i checked with everyone back in the city several times, there was no mention of anything about me being a diplomat for sure. i don't remember if i had letter of marque. unfortunately, it's been a long time, i already moved on. but if i ever come back to the game and this module i'll be sure to keep in mind you post

For sure. You're supposed to get it when talking to Sir Godfrey initially in the castle, but if you want to be able to resume type

It's something that's supposed to be impossible to miss, so this is a curious result. Hope you return and give it another shot!
