Lightsabers without RPGO
Is it possible to make this mod work without RPG Overhaul? The latter crashes my game before it launches no matter what. I didn't find any other mod which would make this one work either.
And either way, don't really want to start a new campaign because of a mod that isnt necessary for Star Wars looks.

So I'm asking whether any other one reliable exists, OR how can I manually rewrite whatever the hell needs to be rewritten to make this work? I tried it for like 2 days, trying to find how to, but I'm no modder, these ini and other files dont mean much to me.

Btw, this is the only SW mod I cant make work, but without this, I might aswell have none, so... would appriciate the help.

Yes, I do, however, I didn't find any other 'enabler' addons, and can't do it myself. The sabers are there, the research is there for it, that part works. But I cannot equip them to any classes, saying 'Missing class'. Thanks for the reply, though. :)

Uhrm... Are you using Advent to Empire change?
If that's the case, you're using a different lightsaber mod beside this one... which doesn't work.
Advent's only has jedi, which is why it speaks of a missing class.

Cause... this mod atleast allows it for rangers.

Indeed I do. I was under the impression that you can have both, as stated in a "Full conversion" collection of mods. I also seen it both work, or at least Imperial enemies and Xcom soldiers with lightsabers. I cannot say for 100% they used both mods, but so far I thought, that is the case.
If I read it correctly, Advent to Empire doesnt allow you to have Xcom soldiers obtain sabers. If they do though, I do prefer that mod naturally.

Advent empire full conversion uses a lightsaber mod from a different maker.
The current Beta of that different maker (whom created jedi class) clashes with this lightsaber mod. It wouldn't be too hard to imagine that the older incarnation (advent to empire) has similar issues.

This mod's lightsaber can't be used then. It's invisible if WOTC jedi class is active, so different bugs might occur or crashes might exist with the other lightsaber one you're currently using.

Not sure if advent to empire has the lightsaber mod somewhere separately. Either way, advent to empire lightsaber one probably doesn't have lightsaber staffs or pikes. So, if you can check off the lightsabers for advent to empire, you'd probably be able to use these sabers.

These lightsabers doesn't have any research, I think. Well, it does for master version of it, but I don't think I had to do it for the apprentice version.

You could probably alter Advent to Empire's code to allow for xcom soldiers to obtain sabers. Most mods have this possibility. I've altered this lightsaber mod to allow biotics and many modded classes to have sabers for instance.

I would look into this mod's code and try and figure out a fix myself.... if I had time... Though I doubt I'd have any success... but I don't want to cross the dev of this mod neither, so...


But yeah... 2 different saber mods that probably clash.

I see, and I appriciate the lengthy answer, on such a short notice, too.

I'll look into it, maybe throw this up as a similar convo at Advent to Empire mod, because as I mentioned, I'm no modder myself, obviously.

But I can write over inis and such, if only I can deduct what and where I should. Of course, clicking out certain aspects of the Advent saber mod would be neat, but overall I'm kinda saddened by these news.

You can have either Sith enemies, or Jedi allies, but cant have both sounds fairly disappointing. I might just try out that Jedi class mod, although I was hoping for the Rangers/Psi soldiers having an option for it, not a unique, probably fairly imbalanced and only later unlockable class.

I like my playthrough story driven with my own characters, and most of them were either Jedi or Sith in my star wars lore and games. Having only a few as Jedi and the rest as.. peons compared to that lucky few, well, I'd probably not have them lightsaber users at all.

But either way, thank you, and I'll take my problem elsewhere, see if I, or other helpful individuals can solve it so I can have saber vs saber battles. :)

I hope you'll be able to figure it out.

Normally, you can add rangers and psi to any lightsaber/jedi mod, by altering the inis, but would require a look.

Has anyone run into an issue where deflect/reflect dont seem to work with these lightsabers?

The lightsabers here just act like swords. It doesn't deflect. On Musashi's Jedi class, there is a skill for deflection that can be acquired after a certain rank. But lightsaber's under Musashi only work after you build them in the proving ground. Also, using the mod with his mod causes some compatibility problems, but didn't crash my game though.
