I've got issues with quite a few soldiers. None of them shows cosmetic changes when I change their armor: some are stuck on kevlar, some are stuck on predator.
- Giving them WAR/Wraith armor shows cosmetic changes
- Flipping genders shows cosmetic changes (on the opposite gender only)
For some very strange reason, the game seems to have "snapshotted" the look of some of the soldiers. If I change their look, then flip gender and back, they revert all those changes (hair, eyes, skin color etc). First time I've ever seen this.

I've looked at all the Launch.log files but there aren't any mentions of "Upgrading".
I'm not using any custom cosmetics except "Empty WOTC Deco Slots for XCOM Soldiers", but I haven't actually set any of the props to the ones in the mod.

Edit: this issue didn't become apparent until I researched Power Armor, I didn't notice it until now. These soldiers have been on covert ops a few times, but I can't say if that has anything to do with it.
Unfortunately, I don't have a save game back when before I researched the tech.

What I've also tried:
- deactivated the mod
- uncommented the lines in the .ini (for female)
- deactivated Empty WOTC Deco Slots mod

Any way to reset their appearance / fix this?

I'd need some log files to try to diagnose your issue. If you run a new campaign, turn logging on, and post the log entries at the time you do the upgrade. Thanks.
As far as what happens when you change genders, the mod would have no effect on that.

I know, I gave the example with changing genders because it's relevant. Normally, when you do that, the game generates a random soldier look every time. That's vanilla functionality, not mod related.
Except, in this case, it doesn't. It keeps a snapshot (a memory) of whatever the soldier looks and is stuck on it.
Btw, I started this campaign with your mod from the beginning, so there's no guarantee that I'd have any relevant logs in a new campaign. Perhaps you forgot to enable logging in a previous version?

New issue:
Soldiers wearing kevlar (fresh started game) some of them on covert op, reasearched next armor and upgraded to it. All soldiers not being on covert op upgraded and retained the look of kevlar upgrade (my setting to do this) covert op soldiers also retained the kevlar look but also retained the kevlar armore (they did not upgrade to next level). I had to upgrade them manually and when i did they lost the apparance of kevlar armor.

I've tried to replicate your issue by retaining the Kevlar look. It works and it is upgrading to Predator. I'm guessing you have some kind of mod conflict.

Hello, I'm not sure if this is caused by your mod alone or a mod conflict; I just upgraded my Spark armour, but I skipped a tier, going straight from tier 1 to tier 3. I only have one Spark, and their appearance automatically changed, but to tier 2.

I now can't change their appearance to tier 3 armour, or back to tier 1. The only options showing up are for tier 2. With the exception of their head, which still has every option.

I'm not in a position to test if this would happen to regular soldiers as well when you skip a tier, but the unrestricted mod at least makes it possible to fix that if it happens.

It's not a huge issue, like a lot of people I prefer the tier 1 and 2 looks anyway.

Interesting bug - I never tried skipping a tier. The logic would definitely upgrade the tier 1 look to tier 2, so that makes sense. No idea why the selections would be impacted though, my mod should really have no effect on that. I'll take a look the next time I run a campaign.

I found an unrestricted customization mod for Sparks that let me work around it for now. It's definitely convinced the customization UI I'm on tier 2 though. Even this mod locked me to tier 2 and below until I fiddled with the ui to allow any part with any armour.

Here's the mod if anyone else needs a workaround: Spark Progressive Armor

The problem with selections could be a mod conflict and not your mod on it's own.
I'm also using Unrestricted Customization, Free the Hood, Arms and Shoulders, and Progressive Armor Options.

I'm having the exact same problem. After upgrading to Tier 3 armor, a handful of my guys are stuck on Predator armor cosmetics. Also, the Tactical Legacy Pack armors are no longer available for a bunch of my guys in the loadout screen. Unfortunately I'm playing an Ironman game, so I'm stuck with a bunch of bugged troopers now. :(
New Issue: (I think)
Recently started using AML to launch WOTC and everything was working fine til today when the mod was no longer appearing in the Alternate Mod launcher. Not really super hardcore computer savey so not sure how else to check. I've tried unsubbing and resubbing, refreshing the list and still nothing. Any help would be appreciated.
So I looked into the Launch.log file and found that some of my people got the upgrade and others did not when I looked in the file the reason appears to be there name just isnt there for some reason despite having the character since mission one? why would that be
