- Add option to set minimal viewDistance.
I can implement a max viewDistance slider, but I need to know how this would be used and why there is a need for such a feature in the first place.
On my system I can fly helis in missions with low AI count quite well (~6km viewDistance), using the default settings of the mod, but I can't tell if those suit your needs and if they perform as expected in your use case.
And maybe a way to have elevation affect your render distance; so if you're at a higher elevation ASL, it'll skew towards longer render range instead of strict adherence to FPS? Definitely toggleable, since it could be performance-impacting compared to default, but it would be a major boon to pilots and snipers who need the render distance.
I adore the mod in its current state, and look forward to future development. Thank you for making this, KiloSwiss!
I'm now adding a max viewDistance slider and work on other improvements that will make long range engagements more... eh playable for the lack of a better term.
1: vehicle specific minimum range, i use only 500m on foot. but need atleast 2000 for a jet <3
2: object quality setting change depending on vehicle
overall great mod
also doesnt seem to have any conflicts with ace to me.. and im using like 40 mods at the same time + ace and a lot of ace micro-addons like realistic unjamming
General note:
I was able to add most of the features that were asked for into the last update.
The viewDistance now dynamically expands when you scope (using binoculars or a high powered scope or any scoped vehicle weapon) on (for example) a hill farther away.
This includes using the target pod on a bomber/jet when high in the air.
In those occasions fps are ignored and viewDistance (as well as Object viewDistance) is expanded for visibility, this change should now no longer hinder players ability to participate in long(er) range engagements or do reconnaissance before entering an area.

The CH View Distance is AFAIK the most advanced mod of this type out there and I aimed to create something more simple, which adapts dynamically to the action of the player, while not overwhelming the user with tons of options.
One could say theirs is the Swiss Army Knife of View Distance mods.
And like with any mod that runs on the client, if the server admin adds the key file to their server, clients can join and play on their servers with this mod.
So if you want to use this mod on a specific server, you have to contact the admins and ask them to allow this mod specifically.

No guarantee that it will be exactly factor 1.2 but I will see how to increase the visible range when ADS, without affecting performance too much.
