2: Problem #1 isn't as bad on gameplay as you'd expect because of a completely different problem... life ships aren't using consumer goods or alloy upkeep.
These issues arise because all of the new 3.0 and Nemesis mechanics are linked to normal empires; this is the same reason you can't -ever- use espionage on a fallen/awakened empire.
This mod will probably need a ground-up rewrite to be fully functional from here on out, as way too much stuff in vanilla hinges on default empire types.
also regretfully there isn't anything I can do about it without an overhaul of the mod
