Review, bug report, and wishes.
I'm currently in a playthrough of your mod in 1954, it has really enjoyed the new late-game meta a great deal. So thank you for making this mod, and I really do hope you'll continue to maintain it because I will play with it by default from now on.

It's really interesting how piercing works in late game(assuming the divisions are normal and not purposely anti-tank) where; normal infantry can penetrate up to light tanks, motorized infantry can penetrate up to light tanks, mechanized infantry can penetrate up to modern tanks, light tanks can penetrate up to modern tanks, modern tanks can penetrate superheavies, and superheavies can penetrate everything. This creates a really interesting dynamic where no division is invincible, although modern tanks and especially superheavies are less vulnerable, which makes them tear through enemies like advanced armor should, that is unless they meet divisions that can pierce them.
Getting more time to use nukes in warfare is also very fun, and especially interesting when the enemy also has a stockpile they use.
Also towards the end of the game, when I could equip my entire army with at least motorized units, I also changed my doctrine tree from "blitzkrieg" to "mobile infantry". Changing your doctrine mid-way thought your playthrough makes it pretty interesting.

Bugs:
I've found that the 1948 and 1952 subs can have 2 radars (giving them 111 surface spotting and 28 sub detection), 2 sonars (which is useless), or 2 schnorkels. With 2 schnorkel 3's, a nuclear reactor, and the admiral skill "Concealment Expert", you get a -110% visibility modifier. This is really funny but also makes them completely overpowered. Other subs can't have 2 of each, and neither can any ships. Please fix <3

What I'd like:
1) Helicopters. The first air-assault unit was first used in 1949 during an exercise, making them fit perfectly in the time-frame. They could come after amtrack 3's, and give the same or better combat bonuses as marines, and a big movement bonus over terrain that would normally slow a unit down. Perhaps it could also be possible to remove such a division's speed bonus gained from better infrastructure or decrease the penalty to supply because of poor infrastructure. The latter could perhaps also be done as an airmobile supply support company for other units.
Helicopters can also be added to ships as a modern floatplane to increase surface detection and especially sub detection, as they do in real life. Late-game sub detection is also missing really badly, so i figured this could be an interesting fix.

2) I'd like to see the new late-game units' production costs to increase much more. Right now, the new mechanized and armored units cost the same per unit as their predecessors, when in reality they should increase exponentially. This would also play on the late-game meta, where the stronger divisions would be much more costly to make, whereas i feel like i could equip a 3 million man army with superheavy tank 2 divisions.

3) Maybe some extended doctrines?

4) This one is big and perhaps outside of the realm of possibility, but extending the timeline outside of the tech tree. Like if Nazi Germany survives past 1945, a random event can trigger where Hitler dies of his illnesses, and you can choose to replace him with Himmler or Göring. Just something interesting that can extend the universe outside of technology

Thank you for commenting and the review!
I'll push the fix for submarines soon.
Regarding suggestions:
1) I agree that helicopters could be used as modern floatplanes. I had that idea too. But that's just a ship module, not an actual helicopter unit.
I still have to investigate how using helicopters as armor would work exactly. Adding them as planes wouldn't be very good IMO. I'm thinking about this.
2) That's something I'm also thinking about how to implement. This is going to be a big change which requires major changes in how the AI uses troops.
3) Extended doctrines will only happen if item 2) is managable.
4) New leaders are going to happen.

Are you sure subs can have two radars? Can you save that configuration?
Anders Matthias 17. juli 2019 kl. 1:44
Actually no, not with the radars, just snorkel and sonar. My mistake

Awesome, fix is merged, and I'll push it to steam later today.
