GC Crashing on Multiple Saves & Playthoughs
I wanted to start off by saying that my friends and I are loving this mod and is complexities. Been playing and following it since its earliest days.

I am now unfortunately experiencing issues with crashing in multiple Galactic Conquest sessions as the Empire. In my games the Consortium dominates with half the map and the Rebels have about a quarter of the map, leaving me with a quarter myself. I am still at tech 1 and the Consortium likes to spam 15-30 Javelin ships plus more at me every time it attacks. The game seems to freeze up and crash to desktop around month 219. I've tried multiple things and I did actually fix the issue one time by launching multiple attacks at different planets to change the Consortiums strategy. Unfortunately it has not worked in my other play throughs and I've gotten to the point of giving up as its become huge waste of my time. I want to mention that I do not save while paused or in a battle as recommended. I could literally sit there and watch the month timer and it will crash at the same time repeatedly. My hunch is that the AI us making major moves with its massive fleets and breaking the game engine. Anyone else experience this? My specs are below if it matters. Thank you.

CPU - AMD 5800X3D
GPU - Nvidia RTX 4080
RAM - DDR4 3600Mt/s 32gb

yeah I'm having this issue as well... pretty broken, and the economy just isn't fun. The mod was perfectly stable until a certain month about midway into the campaign, though I'm not sure specifically what the cause is, it crashes at the same time every time. I will try to go back to another save and fix it. For now, I may just revert back to EAWX mods or AOTR. EAWX was stable, except some unknown crashes that were avoidable, and likely going to be addressed, and critically the framework UI crash, which made it unplayable for me. Remake is my favourite, ignoring the broken economy, but this crash has rendered it also unplayable. I don't know what mods to play anymore as any time I invest myself into one of their campaigns I end up running into fatal bugs. I wish it was different, but it seems unavoidable based on my experiences. The only mods that don't give me issues are ones that aren't as comprehensive. The big mods sadly become too unwieldy.

So its happened a few times now. I was able to get it working by loading a previous save and changing my tactics by pushing the pirates hard. It seems like if you let one faction grow too much, the game cannot handle it. Im now on month 529 and Im experiencing the same issue. So now Im going to attack different planets and hope one breaks the crash.

I was able to fix this by trying to attack different planets and eventually it did not crash. Ive now done this four times over this campaign.

I have found a solution. It happened to me and I start reading all the crash reports here and they think it is for the IA making too many units so I installed the "No unit limit submod" and now my GC is going as normal. Downside is that IA now have unlimited ships but that makes the space battles epic as hell.

DONT USE THIS FIX
at first it was fun, bigger battles and more space combat. BUT NOW Im facing a 100 ship fleet from the old sith faction and a infinit space Empire army, no matter how many times i miraculously defend my planets the Empire come back 1 month later with a doble size fleet literal space hell

Having the same issue. I’ve tried attacking diff planets but I’ve not made large progress overall on month 85 crashes on end of 3rd to last bar for the week. Since my empire is small there’s like 3 planets to attack and it’s not doing the trick :/

Using an AI no unit limit submod is suboptimal for me. Any other ideas if attacking diff planets doesn’t work?

It’s not the same as freezes Niko and Corey have described when there’s like a 3 way auto resolve AI battle.

By pirates do you mean the orange unaligned systems? Or one of the minor factions that actively expands? I tried pushing more against republic holdouts and Hapes as Empire but nothing. Even deleted Republics Secutor and a lot of a fleet once. Still crashed. Imperial remnant had a huge fleet no idea where it is it isnt near Coruscant now for me.

Maybe I should get the debug version and see which faction as a gigaton of ships. I have a feeling you're right on to something with the AI overproducing but I wonder if it's two AI going at it with each other and crashing the game for some reason even though they should just autoresolve. It seems like each crash a sector changes hands from Corporate Authority to Sith Cultists so maybe its one of those factions. But they're no where near my forces.
