Hope that helps!
I spent about five minutes searching the whole complex trying to figure out what to do. I accidentally clicked on the door and to my surprise got the conversation with the woman who told me to go to the security panel...which was what I was going to do anyway.
I think this scene needs to be revised because, like I said, locked doors are never interactable in Dead Man's Switch. I can think of two possibile revisions that would make it more intuitive:
1. Alex is standing there as soon as you walk in. You don't get the "where did he come from" moment, but it would be the most straightforward story-wise. After he is defeated, the security console is accessible.
2. When you get sufficiently far into the hallway (possibly when you explore the open room next door to the locked room), the dialog doesn't say something about the woman crying at the end of the hall, but instead says something like "you hear the sound of a sword being drawn in the main lobby." Then when the group goes back, everything goes as it is now, with the console being activated once he is defeated. Alex already mentions in dialog that there is a woman in the far room, so you can drop the locked door interaction thing, or alternatively keep it in addition to the change mentioned already. This solution would be easier for you implement, I suppose.
So yeah, please make a change to the scene so that folks like me don't get stuck on this part :-)
