Crash
(too long for a comment + probably discussion fuel anyway)
I've been playing crash quite a bit now (the hours I've racked up lol), to the point where I can occasionally pick up a block on the right lane that's practically only a pixel behind the block on the left lane that I just picked up or vice versa. I'm still not perfect at it though. The trick is to plan the movement ahead of time so that you're not just reacting, though at first you will still miss one block or the other quite often (as I still do). I guess that's what happens when you've literally played this mod for almost 100 hours (some of that time I've racked up was between songs or otherwise idle for some reason) xD

One minor gripe that I have with this mod; the reward for successfully collecting 10 blocks that come in the space of maybe a little less than 2 seconds in some really complex pattern is no bigger than the reward for collecting 10 blocks that come in the space of 15 seconds all in the same damn lane. That makes it slightly harder to gauge how skillfully you surfed the song just by looking at your score, or how skillfully someone you're competing with on the leaderboards surfed the song. If there's any chance that you could come up with an alternate version of this mod that does reward more skillful block collecting I'd love to play it.

Also, I've been thinking a 5-lane version of crash would be nice. Do you think you'll ever make something like that? I've actually grown accustomed to not having the pulse effect on this version of crash, though having the pulse effect on the 5-lane version should you ever make it would likely be welcome to accomodate for the additional travel time from the furthest lane on one side to the furthest lane on the other side.

When I originaly made this mod (back in high school, holy crap) it was really just to get the same gameplay I had become used to from AS1 into AS2. Balance, rewarding skill, ect was not even on my mind. 1 point per 1 bock. Collect the most and you get to flaunt your e-peen.

An updated version of this is something I've been chipping *cough*procrastinating*cough* away at for a while now. It's also a low priority now with work and collage.

You bring up some valid points. The bonus for skilled play is defnintley something I'd like to try implementing once I get off my lazy ass get around to working on the next version. I fiddles with the 5-lane option in AS1 and it was just too much information at once for me to handle. I could probably release a 5-lane option alongside the next release (I'm pretty sure it's just one built in setting, nothing fancy).

To be fair here, you know someone's a major badass if they straight-up ace a song; you really can't rightfully top that ^^ Maybe a version that goes at the same speed as ninja turbo could be good though; one or two people I've talked to say that this mod isn't as "impressive" to show off with as a lot of other mods. I'm pretty sure those people would happily attempt to ace high block-density songs on a faster version of this because that would be a rather impressive display of skill.

I can't really say anything to it if getting around to making any more versions of this takes you a while; I personally just spend my time doing stuff I enjoy and don't have much patience for code. I can't even use having work and or school as an excuse for that xD
