It would be cool if possible game wise to merge shield generators together, there would be penalties of course.

example: like workbench boosters (how tool cabinets etc work) or there could be button to combine nearby shield generators together. Their radius would combine as one and maybe small amount of capacity that decrease the more is combined. Recharge rate would stay the same for balance reasons.

The area to be able to combine could be the shield generator structure need to be inside the other shield or some sort of tile radius of 10-20.
