Startpos editing to enable more vassals
Hi Bonsai,

I have been playing around with locobilbo's defunct Vassal Kingdoms mod (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1388467977) as it could be fun to add the requirement to have more vassals as part of conquest.

I have got his mod to work and I think can be used to stop snowballing of the player once they get to a certain level, by requiring that provinces (generally the less productive ones) can be given over to vassals (the sub factions themselves that are not being used in game at the start could be renamed to be baron of this or that etc.)

Only issue I have at the moment is some of the factions are not actually classed as dead at the start of the campaign, even though they are not present with regions/forces etc. assigned to them (an example would be south seax). The only way to fix this I think is to ensure to ensure that they are not present/classed as dead within the startpos, but I cant change your original startpos.

So, if you get a chance at some point, could you take a look at your startpos and kill off any factions that are not actually used at the start of the campaign?

Thanks!

I have no idea how to kill them off at the start. If you can link me to a tutorial I can try it.

Hi Bonsai ,

They can be killed off using the script below, I am just not sure at the moment of how to ensure that this script only gets run once (i.e. at start/end of turn one).

cm:kill_character("character_cqi:"..suth_seaxe:faction_leader():command_queue_index(), false, true);

The other way is to remove them from the startpos (I think!). So, if you use DAVE to look at faction dorsaete (number 3 on the list), it does not have any startpos characters, settlements or anything other than a starting treasury, government and religion. If you check another that is not in Conquest at the start but is still in the game such as Suth Seaxe (number 5) then if it still has some characters, delete them all and delete any settlements etc. and hopefully that will kill them off from the very start of the campaign.

I found a couple of other small bugs as well:

Huntedunscire - old icon still visible for regions on campaign and I think alliegence
Missing structures at Sancte Albanes and Elig (blank at the start of campaign but can be built on once regions owned ... AI wont build anything their though)

Thanks :)
