Transport Fever 2

Gwinda's signal pack
Track categories
Hi Gwinda,

although I am not desperately in need of your nice pack, there is a major issue with it - maybe you can fix it??

The problem is, your pack installs some rail tracks with different speeds - so far not a problem. But it creates for EACH track speed a separate category in the build menu. The "upgrade tracks" button to the right of them moves further to the right.

Now comes the trouble: If you install Skyrames track mod with many many tracks with different speeds (and that is a must to have for me). the upgrade button moves thus far to the right, it is out of sight and cannot be used anymore. So you only can choose to build new tracks with different speeds, but cannot change the speed of an existing track anymore.

I started a game without your mod. but with skyrames mod -> no categories at all, so the button is clear to see and use.

So, does your mod really need tracks with different speeds? I guess, many people just want the signals, right? Can you remove the tracks or at least the category function?

Of course you don't have to!! I don't want to criticize, just wanted to let you now, what happens.

If you don't want to change anything, so this is alright with me. No offence at all!

But you could let me know if you think you want and will be able to change something, so I can use your signals again :)

Have a nice weekende and very merry christmas !!

Marc

Thank you for the input Marc.

When I published the mod there was a bug in the UI filtering that I reported to UG. Since then they added the grouping for models, I just don't know if the grouping can be applied to signals.

The bug was indeed that I had no control over the sort order, hence no sort order has been implemented (yet).

The track speeds are there because a signal can't change the speed, as some of the signals in the pack are supposed to do. For this you can use the tracks instead.

If the tracks pushes other items away, you can always scroll through them all with the mouse wheel or by the arrows at the beginning/end (move the mouse).

I will have a look at this because the current state of the mod is not how I intended it to be when it was published.

Ahh, I see what you mean now...
This is something UG needs to address. It must be possible to scroll and set the order of filters.
Hi, I think, you've loaded the skyrames mod with yours? Because you see what I mean?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think before the UG patch it wasn't a category for each track speed...

Btw.: Do you know what I can do? After the patch I get errorcodes for the SetOpenGL from CommonAPILUA and the game won't start... after acknowledging both errorcodes both errorcodes, the game starts, runs, but the black button CommonAPI which was by default at the top left (which I closed every time) isn't there anymore...

Don't know how this affects my game... But it is NOT the CommonAPI2 as I haven't loaded this "mod"...

No, there isn't. My signal mod puts all the game's tracks (vanilla and other mods) into categories by speed.

CommonAPILUA or CommonAPI2 has nothing to do with me, I'm not using any of them.
I know, thanks.... Just thought, because you are modding, that you might have a clue what is going on there, no matter...

have a nice christmas!!!
