Credits Reseting, help needed!!

I have edited the XML text to let me start a small Galactic Conquest with 100,000 credits. The correct number of credits loads when the map first starts. But as soon as the first cycle ends and fleet upkeep is subtracted, the credits reset to 10,000.

I have absolutely no idea how to fix this. Can anyone help?
