@valteeka Also you should never save during battles and always use several save files, not just one. I create a new file whenver I save (almost every cycle). Fro mtime to time you need to delete old save files or the newer will not be shown.


@valteeka Avoid saving close to end/start of cycle. I only save in middle. There are other suspected causes for file corruptions you can find if you google but they are much more unlikely.

Been playing since vanilla, do not know why people say keep multi save files. Really never had problems with one save file. Still only keep one save file per faction. Though keep a backup at order 66 encase I want to try keeping the jedi alive for a change. I often save on first and last time pip. Maybe I am lucky or something, but rarely have save issues, like once in half a year? But agree that never say during combat, that has never worked. Try verify game files, that usually fixes things, especially if you play multiple mods. Not saying I am right about save issue, just never really had any. But that does not mean others are unlucky, after all, everyone has different setup, different background programs running, etc.

Because EAW has been known to spontaneously corrupt saves for no discernible reason and keeping multiple saves around lessens the likelihood that you lose all your progress.

Some people do get lucky and don't get corrupted saves. Some people get really unlucky and can't seem to avoid them. Just how it is.
