Indeed I have plans to add a Machine Empire exclusive federation based on the idea of a network of multiple cognitive systems working together. It should come soon.

Would it be Possible for you to delete the authoritarian requisit to make a Hegemony? The mod which allows for that gets overwriten by your mod. Its the "Hegemony for Everyone" Mod by Starlancer.

I think that the Sacred Commune should have some sort of Crusading CB which changes at least one of their Ethics to spiritualist and adds them to the federation.

I'm not sure I want to handle existing federations in this mod but I can make it compatible with Hegemony for Everyone!

That's a really cool concept I've been debating with myself how to tackle correctly. But Crusading spiritualists is certainly going to be a thing in future versions of this mod.

Maybe Defence Coalition should transform some of the ships of into federation ships? And the other part could be disbanded. You will have some not upgraded ships in the federation from the start.

As for federations, although I would like to try, the logic of AI voting always makes me incomprehensible. they always prevent me from modifying laws or inviting other countries to join, which makes federations less fun and useful than players think. If this mod can make AI voting less stupid, it would be better.

As said i live in South Korea, There is one good example, for Common Detente.

From 2000~2013, South Korea and North Korea operated <Kaesong Industrial Region>.
Goal of his Industrial Region is "Provide cheaper workers to South Korean Company, Provide North Korean People to finest work place"
And the ultimate goal was to pursue mutual cooperation and resolution of hostilities through this cooperation.(As for the South Korean Government) This industrial region has produced consumer goods rather than heavy industries. It was one of the ways to support small and medium-sized enterprises in south Korea.
It is now closed due to worsening relations between the two countries. Even now in South Korea, the <Kaesong Industrial Region> is a political and diplomatic controversy.(Debt problems for the establishment of the industrial complex, effectiveness problems, risk problems that could be hostages, and so on.)

So, for Common Detente Perks, something like a 'Joint economic development zone' for "states with bad relations" seems to be fine.

Of course, it seems very difficult to figure out how to balance. The best way is likely to be in the direction of increasing workers' resource output and relationship.(I don't think it's a bad idea to increase maintenance costs.)

If you have a better idea, it would be nice if you could use it. :)

If you can add galactic community style laws into federations, that'd be awesome.
Federations just feels too much like a more advanced alliance rather than say, the EU.

I have an idea. Currently if your a criminal Heritage megacorp you cant join any federation. I think that's wrong. Think about it. Were talking a megacorp thats based on orginized crime. They should have their own Federation called a Syndacate who's leader title should not be president but Don. They could have a causus beli called Made Men and would only fire if the other empire refused your tribute demand. It would force them into your federation and they would have to become a megacorp government. I have ideas for some laws that would make it unique and interesting. 1 a succession law called Gang war. If someone wants to be the don they have to take the position from the current leaders cold dead hands. Drive by shootings anyone? if it suceeds you loose your current civilization leader and have to elect another and you loose the presdency. The catch it would be open only to those civs that have the criminal heritage.
2 and on that note i have another law called Made Man that if enacted would have all federation members with out the Criminal heritage civic to aquire it even after game start.
3 a law called protection racket which would lower the influence cost, sprawl penalties and boost the benifits of having branch offices. It would boost crime though and come with downsides like giving the empire with whom you have the branch office with a Causus beli against you called Expell criminal elements.

Ok thats it for now but this ideas far from complete I will edit this post as i think of more things to flesh this federation out.

I'd love to see more events related to federations, both internally with members and between different federations.

Maybe a federation tax policy could be added, in which members give a percentage of resources to the president.

The feudalism civic needs to made into a fed-type.
I want to make a galactic empire á la Star Wars.
An empire where my regional governors now have direct control over their territories.
Fear will keep them in line, fear of my battle station.
