-The pistols take a primary slot when picked up from the ground
-The cigar item doesn't load in-game (don't expect this one to be fixed
Icons for the pistols are broken in-game
Both the pistol and the deagle have been fixed and use their icons when in the offhand slot!
Nightvision doesn't work - Drones aren't illuminated
Beta drones now use .vmt elements from the normal drones that allows them to be illuminated and frozen.
pRifles stun grenade doesn't stun drones
I removed the problematic cvar that was related to this.
Under watch:
Sometimes marines will randomly die if they get stuck in something (i.e. other marines or physics boxes). I think this is due to fall damage. I'm testing to see if that is the case.
I have disabled fall damage to see if this was the problem. So far, so good.
Here they are :
- Nightvision does not work - enemies do not show up on nightvision.
- I am unsure how to use ammo satchel. It does nothing when I click with it equipped.
- Whenever I use the P-Rifle it is hard to tell whether the stun grenade has any effect at all.
Also, although this is irrelevant, because of the top-down camera flashlights and flares have become useful again, which is epic. Darkness on some maps is more apparent with the top-down camera.
-Hmm, the nightvision seems to be because of the custom skin on the drones, or the beta drones themselves. I'm going to go check it out and see if I can't figure out how fix that.
-Whenever an ally runs out of ammo for their rifle, shotgun, flamer, autogun, etc. then you can hover your mouse over them and give them ammo. The ammo bag only carries so much, but you can refill it by picking up specific ammo types (like autogun ammunition or a rifle ammo box). As far as I know, you can't give ammo to yourself.
-Now this is a problem I have found and meant to release a quickfix but I think I forgot all about it. It's because I tried to reduce how much of a stun effect the flamethrower had on drones. Turns out, I accidentally only changed the stun grenade itself. This one's a quick cvar fix, so no biggy!
Thanks for reporting these! I'll see about getting a quickfix up, preferably today.
Also, yeah! It's very beneficial to have at least one person with a lightsource now. The darker maps and the old drone skins made sure of that. The vents in SynTek Residential is also a really tense area if you don't have anything to see with!
p.s.: How do you feel about rd_bot_strong being set to 0, which would remove the bots passive resistance? Personally, I find that it makes the game a lot tougher and more hectic if you have bots with you, and truer to the original, but the way they don't dodge projectiles or get stuck when mortarbugs are around I am unsure if this would be a good change.
I've currently fixed the two problems you brought up:
Drones now show up bright green with nightvision goggles and the prifle's stun grenade's effectiveness has been restored.
As an added bonus, I also figured out how to make the beta drones look frozen when you hit them with a frost grenade.
Aaaaaaand patched! Please tell me if the problem persists or any new ones arise.
I do not mind whether or not the bots' passive resistance are revoked or not, I don't play with them that often for it to make much of a difference for me. If you are unsure you can always make it optional or something only available on higher difficulties.
