I understand where you're coming from.
Jelliet was pushed out to the workshop a bit early. I actually had some ideas in the pipeline, but I scrapped everything for now.
Her appearance is what took me the longest to get right, and it really took a toll on the development.
At the moment I am not 100% sure what would be the best further path to go for Jelliet.
This mod is something special and I just don't want to ruin it with something half-baked.
When it comes to Nightmare Fuel, being able to eat it is related to her lore (and I have plans for additional lore stuff in the future), but I feel like only adding lore-related content wouldn't be satisfying for most players, so I would like to bundle it all with a proper Jelliet refresh in a nice single package.
It should all come sometime in the future, but at the moment I cannot tell when exactly.
She honestly doesn't need too much. She is fairly balanced when compared to the other DST characters which is a hard thing to nail down. If I'd personally say, shes a bit underpowered, but again not by much.
If you want some help with design stuff let me know. I'm very accustomed to making mods in various games. (Not programming them though, just designing them.)
Jelliet can move through thin gaps/walls/fossils. I'd need a bit more time to figure out exactly which things she should be and should not be allowed to pass through if you want more information. But it'd be an incredibly interesting ability for her and synergize well with her slime balls who follow you through, allowing you to eat them in combat easier.
But again i'm unsure if thats even possible to program in a mod without it being some script heavy thing that disables collision with some things and not others. And it'd need playtesting to see if it'd make her super OP by hiding inside a fossil/end table and not being hittable or something.
Since there are collission groups in DST (that's why Slimes collide with each other, but they don't collide with players - I made them this way).
The problem I would see here is mostly that animation-wise it would seem like she's a ghost walking through walls... And yeah, it would enable a lot of potential cheese - for example what happens if you built a big cube of walls and went in the very middle?
Technically I could make it so that you could get pushed out from the walls in the direction you're facing, but at the same time... Well, what if you build this big pile of walls near the coast? Will you get pushed into the water? Probably not.
And this is the first thing I thought of when looking for problems with this perk. I think it would need way too much cheese-patching.
There must be something different which could make her special. I will eventually get a really good, fitting idea. I just need a bit of time :)
can't wait to see what you come up with! If I have any other ideas I'll just post them here as I play with her.
