[Spoilers] Strategy Guide
If you are stuck, here is an overview of how to complete the campaign, as spoiler-free as possible:

  • Most of the missions will not be available if you sided with The Emperor instead of Adriana. I suppose this is obvious due to the name of the mod, but I'm sure someone will miss the memo.
  • These missions are significantly more difficult than the Black Market missions. Come prepared!
  • You will be hailed by a Cavaliers Scout once every 30 minutes - make sure to accept the optional missions from it, because there's a hidden reputation stat that you will need to advance the story.
  • Story Mission 1 [Steel in the Twilight] is obtained roughly 10 minutes after beating the 5th Cavaliers mission from the Black Market DLC.
  • Story Mission 2 [The Unforgiving Blade] is obtained immediately after beating the 1st mission.
  • Story Mission 3 [Order from Chaos] is obtained from the Cavaliers Scout once you have been promoted twice.
  • To get Story Mission 4 [March of the Cavaliers], you will need to do the following:
    1. Cross the barrier.
    2. Mine Avorion.
    3. Travel back outside the barrier.
    4. Accept mission 3 from the scout.
    5. Pick a specific branch of the dialog tree when talking with Adriana after completing mission 3's main objective.
    6. Complete the "Advanced Materials Delivery" optional mission next time you see the scout.
  • Story Mission 5 [Long Live The Empress!] is obtained shortly after completing mission 4.
  • There's a special reward for working with The Cavaliers for long enough. You may not want to stop accepting missions from them after completing Story Mission 5!

If you are having trouble with Story Mission 2, try bringing in 2 or 3 extra ships instead of flying solo. Use your primary ship to focus on killing the pirate waves that spawn while letting The Cavaliers and your other ships take out the stations.

Whenever yellow / orange / red markers pop up, make sure to pay attention to those. The Cavaliers ships can get dropped fast if they pick a fight with the heavier pirate ships, or multiple pirate ships at once.

If you are having performance problems with your machine during Story Mission 2, try using this mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2434077144 I have noticed a modest performance increase while using it, and others have reported a major performance increase.
