Small suggestion, if you're interested. The Fermenter mod has fish paste, which is made by further fermenting pickled fish. This might be another good candidate for a luxury condiment (like you mentioned the possibility of balsamic vinegar as a luxury condiment in your to do list).

Would you consider adding barley, and making it a requirement for beer wort in place of some of the hops requirement? Perhaps another beer or ale recipe for wheat could be added if an applicable mod is present?

I do love a good fish sauce. I did try to make this able to be standalone from UF if the user wants though.

We've actually been talking about possibly adding barley, with it being fermentable into lager.

I'd absolutely love to see hardtack as another preserved food, although it would probably have to have health drawbacks. Both because it would relatively easy to make and because it's essentially just a brick of hardened flour.

Hardtack is something I considered adding, but I believe VGP adds hardtack and the person I made this for uses VGP, so we wanted to avoid doubles.

What is the use case of these grains and where would they spawn? There needs to be a reason for more crops as opposed to just increasing the spawn rate of existing ones.

Amaranth - Native to Mexico and Central America. So probbly tropical or arid biomes. They have a bunch of uses from flour, candy, dye, oil, toasted like popcorn, etc.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amaranth

Buckwheat - Native to China and southeast Asia so probbly tropical rainforest. Says it can grow in low fertility soil.It can make flour, noodles, pancakes, gluten-free beer, whisky, tea, shoku, etc.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckwheat

Quinoa - Native to South America. It can live up in cold mountain regions. it can live in poor soil and is drought resistant. Can be eaten alone like rice.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quinoa

Triticale - Is a hybrid of wheat and rye. It can grow anywhere where wheat or rye can and can be made into any flour or alcohol that they can. Basically has the good taste of wheat but the large output of rye. Perhaps have this only available from traders.

a mechanized brewing factoymachine, like a compatability with Vanilla Expanded Mechanoid factory!

Suggestion: Grain milling automation.

Implementation: A device that turns grains into flour over time (and possibly with energy).

Details:
1. The time of milling is proportional with the amount of grain input.

2a. Energy input could be wind power for passive milling. Would also have to be obstruction prone like the in-game power windmills.

2b. Energy input could alternatively be electricity for some industrial machine that also takes some time to fully process the grains with a small increase to the yeild of the final product.

3. The device is large.

4. Reasonably costly in construction materials.

4a. A medieval mill could use stone and wood (if a windmill, textiles).

4b. A industrial mill could use metal and components.

The factories from VFE Mechanoids actually use some of the same code as the fermenters to do what they do, but I'll see what I can do about making it automated.

I'll see how feasible something like these will be to implement.

Would it be okay for you to add Sorghum, Millet and Rye to be added in the recipe of 'milling' and 'porridge' in VGP Garden Gourmet mod so they can be made into flours? I know how to fiddle with XML myself a bit so I did it for mine, but I was wondering if it could be made official.
