Playing the vex causes game breaking desynchronization issues when playing on multiplayer.

I'm going to need more information about your issue:

1. When does this happen? Immediately or later in the game?
2. How many players?
3. Does it happen every time you start a multiplayer game?
4. Does the synchronization issue happen outside of multiplayer?

Apologies for the late reply.


1. Happens almost instantly in game. I believe more specifically when opening the menu in your first planet.

2. tested with just 2 players, but I can look into it with more people should that be needed.

3. Every time a multiplayer game is started, no inconsistencies

4. It does not happen outside of multiplayer.

Playing in 3.3: You cannot make vex radiolaria pools. Is this intended or is it a bug?

Also getting the immediate desync in Multiplayer that Apersonthatis was getting. Tested with 3 players using only this mod. Also happened using the Hive mod but haven't tested around that one specifically as much.

Did some more testing with a friend, the desync doesn't occur immediately as we ran the game for about a month with no issue. Once I selected the capital world playing as the Vex the desync occurred.

Thanks. I'm still looking into it, but this does help narrow the problem down a bit. The problem is that I didn't make this mod with multiplayer in mind, so I'm not sure where to look to fix the desync. Did you and your friend make sure to have the mod load order exactly the same? The check sum number should be the same too.

Yeah we made sure that we only had this mod on when we tried it so load order shouldn't be an issue. I do recall the checksum being the same as well. I recently had the thought to check for a desync when opening the Species tab as maybe something about the Pops are the issue, but I won't be able to try anything until tomorrow.

same here i was playing darkness race with no problems and another friend played as the hive also no desync, only vex seem to cause desync. we are using all your destiny race mods and got the same mod load order / checksum.

1. everytime our vex player opens one of his colonized planets / homeworld
2. 3 players
3. yes
4. nope

also when he desyncs it says RANDOM_COUNT.

we love your mods, hoping for some shipsets ;)

Ok, I did a sweep of bugfixes presented in the error log including one I think may have caused the issue and updated the mod. Could you try and test it again to see if the desync still happens on your end?

If possible, could you give me a copy of your multiplayer save file? Otherwise, I'm not sure about the cause. The desync could be the vex planet class since you mentioned it only happens when you click on a vex machine world. But you also say it desyncs when clicking on Vex owned non-machine colonized worlds too.

Can you click on regular planets as the Vex without triggering the desync?

Last question: Have you tried a multiplayer game with just the Vex mod by itself? Does it still desync?

I'm still willing to fix this, but I need more information (the save file) because I normally don't play multiplayer games.

We tested again an it really is the Vex machine Worlds, also with only vex mod / universal resource patch 2.4+, unchanged planets working fine.
In both the old save and a new one with only Vex / Resource patch
both always Random_Count on machine worlds.
