Need advice for Rome
I'm trying to do a playthrough as Rome, but I'm encountering some challenges - namely, I instantly have to cede a city to the Magonids and at the start I'm losing a ton of money, even setting taxes to very high, building traders and opening trade routes ASAP isn't offsetting it and I end up in debt. Does anyone have any advice?

Delete useless armies and navies those cost you upkeep every turn - the more you build the more it cost you.

Also use militia to station in your city's to keep them happy - those have low upkeep - Don't station front line troops in city's that are expensive upkeep.
