could it be windows blocking the game/mod from creating files?
but that wouldn't explain the debug text not showing up afaik.
Sorry for not seeing this a lot earlier. And I'm sorry its not working for you.
At the moment there's very little error checking around file opening and writing. If you've got the debug option on, but no output, even though the bind for checking the recording is telling you there is, there's probably a bug in there. What's probably happening is the code that sets that 'running' flag has run, but something's then failed.
There is some error logging when things go wrong. Can you check your game logs? Any errors should have the text 'tacview recorder' in them, so shouldn't be too hard to find if they exist.
If there's no output its likely that Arma can't open a file in the location setup in the options. Are you trying to record into a location that you control, like your user profile? Not in the Arma game directory or root of C are you?
Are there spaces in the name of the location you're trying to use? That's one thing I realised I never tested.
I've got it working, thanks for answering, i set the path to be inside my profile in Arma3 - Other profiles, and inside the compositions folder.
so it looks like this
C:\Users\PC\Documents\Arma 3 - Other Profiles\Lt%2eMatheusgc02\compositions
