3.6 Fetid Waft

Obtained from: Nimble Infection (2.9.5)

At the end of the player turn, the hero's feet release a fetid waft, deterring and knocking back adjacent people (humans). Affected people gain +1 Warding and +14 Stunt Chance for the enemy turn. If affected people are present, the hero's loner personality stat increases (the modifications only last for the campaign).

4. Friendly monsters (allies and pets)

4.1 Sap Father Fungus
Obtained from: Utter Sap (2.6)

Sap Father Fungus may visit the Herbling Hero up to two times in subsequent missions. He is a pacifist, incapable of dealing damage, but may heal allies, arch trees, and grant temporary health to all beings around an interfused tree. Sap Father has a pacifist aura, which increases warding and armor at the expense of bonus damage and spell damage.

4.2 Shrauv
Obtained from: Talking Bushes (2.7) Choice 1, and Call of the Shrauv (3.4)

The Shrauv are an exiled bloodline of Drauven plainstails who travel in rootfear. Shrauv has a Shed Mind ability, increasing its potency and spell damage to party levels, a pinning Bushwack, the ability to spawn and interfuse with a bush and enter grayplane, and a once per mission use of terror-belly caps, spiking fear in nearby enemies.

4.3 Dry Patch Badgerkin
Obtained from: Gather Patch (3.1) modified with Dry Patch Badgerkin aspect

The Dry Patch Badgerkin is a hit-and-run fireskirmisher brandishing their trademark fireballs. The Badgerkin matches the Herbling Hero's potency for balance. Dry Patch Badgerkins excel in guerrilla tactics, disappearing at the end of the player turn. (They also have an insane dodge rate.)

4.4 Trufflesnout

The subject of poems and plays, its deeds told across the Yondering. It's a pig.

But it's a Nethertruffle pig! With the ability to dig for Nethertruffles next to (plant, tree) scenery. If enemies are adjacent to Trufflesnout when it digs for truffles, it becomes aggressive, gaining the War Pig aspect, a buff to armor, warding, and potency, and the War Pig Slam skill (think warrior backslam).

As long as Trufflesnout is alive, the Herbling Hero may visit the Nethertruffles dealer in Truffling Matters (2.8.1)

5. Themes

5.1 Pet Pitcher Plant
Obtained from: A Final Wade A Farewell Pitch (2.9.1) or Mortal Choice (2.9.4)

The Pilaia Pitcher Plant is a carnivorous fly-trap. Note that it occupies the shoulder pet AND wings slots.
Stats: -5 Charisma

Note: There are technically two Pitcher Plant themes. One theme is permanent and one is non-permanent (similar to petrified limbs). In other respects the two themes are identical. In the mission victory (2.9.1), the player is granted the choice of permanence after choosing an eligible hero. In mortal choice (2.9.4), only the non-permanent theme is obtainable.

5.1.1 Abilities

Nectar Spout!
(Active) Once per mission, splash a stock of nectar onto distant tiles. Allies and enemies caught up in the nectar will attract swarms of flies, lowering their accuracy for the mission (-14 Melee Accuracy, -21 Ranged Accuracy). The spout splashes nectar onto a random half of the tiles in the area of effect that lasts for 6 turns (3 rounds).

Switcheroot!
(Active) The roots of the Pilaia grapple nearby units. Every other turn as a swift action, swap the places of two nearby single tile units (Range: 2.6 + Bonus Range)
