Bug reports
This thread is made to collect crash reports that occur while AntiCrash is active, as well as general bug reports.

How to submit a report

0. If you’re willing to try and reproduce the issue, enable Debug Mode through Mod Config Menu or by using the acdebug console command and try crashing the game again. This will cause a lot more detailed logs regarding deleted entities to be saved in the crash report.

1. After your game crashes, you should be able to find the crash report in your save data folder. Its location differs depending on which OS you're using:

  • Windows: Inside your user folder, usually C:\Users\<username>\My Documents\My Games\Binding of Isaac Repentance
  • Mac OS X: ~/Library/Application Support/Binding of Isaac Repentance/
  • Linux: ~/.local/share/binding of Isaac repentance

2. Once located, find the most recent file that has a name like isaacv1.7.8a.0000-20220401-183424-2676-17528.txt

3. Upload this file to https://ufile.io/ or another file sharing website. Associated .dmp file is not necessary.

4. Get the link to the uploaded file and post in in this thread, along with any other information that you think could be useful (screenshots or screen recordings are especially helpful)

For dumb reasons, my log file was apparently more than half a megabyte large. So I cut down the log to what I believe is more needed.

But when I am doing the chase scene in the Abandoned Mineshaft and upon entering the 3rd room, the game unexpectedly crashed.

I've actually released an update 5 days ago that was aimed at resolving this exact issue, so I'm assuming this crash was more recent than that? If so, do you remember whether AntiCrash was active during the chase? This would've been indicated as a purple dot in the bottom left of the screen.

I think I know why this is happening, will add a setting to improve mod compatibility at the cost of performance

I've actually released an update 5 days ago that was aimed at resolving this exact issue, so I'm assuming this crash was more recent than that? If so, do you remember whether AntiCrash was active during the chase? This would've been indicated as a purple dot in the bottom left of the screen.

Yeah the mod was active when I was doing that run. And I ran it multiple times that day too, even after the supposed fix. I also found out that it does not crash when it isn't active. It is weird that the mod on my end didn't update. Would I need to remove the mod from the mods folder and reinstall the mod from scratch to fix the issue with the up to date version?

Yeah, it should deactivate on its own while in mineshaft rooms, so you may not have the latest version. Try removing the mod folder as you've suggested and resubscribing.

Yeah, it should deactivate on its own while in mineshaft rooms, so you may not have the latest version. Try removing the mod folder as you've suggested and resubscribing.

Did that and it did deactivate when I decided to test the abandoned mineshaft room. Works as intended. Thanks!

Just uploaded a new version that has a Mod Config Menu option to improve mod compatibility, toggle it and that should fix this bug you're experiencing.

Not a crashing issue, but in Dross the waterfalls that push the entire room are spawning HUGE particles that make it hard to see what is going on, they kind of look like stars as if impacts are happening.

I somehow missed that, thank you for reporting this. Just implemented a fix and pushed an update that should resolve this.

Hi Tarrslime. I've looked at your crash log, and it would appear that it happened shortly after starting a new game, is that correct? If so, AntiCrash wouldn't have been active as it turns off when a new game is started, and it shouldn't be able to cause any issues in that state.

From what it looks like, your game crashed shortly after initializing a Sloth miniboss and trying to play the music that would normally play during that battle. You may have a music mod installed that could cause this.

Are you able to reproduce the issue? If so, does it happen if AntiCrash is not enabled?

Also, do you mean that you’re playing coop when you say multiplayer?

Edit: I've just released an update that adds a debug mode in Mod Config menu. If you could enable it and reproduce the issue, then submit a new crash report, that would help a lot with troubleshooting.
