Perhaps "recommended" isn't the right word, but these are the settings where I think Fantastic Ancients will shine the most.

Prince difficulty, Huge map, Marathon speed.

Raging Barbarians as well if you want a nice, stiff challenge.

Fantastic Ancients spawns barbarians 4x faster on Marathon speed than vanilla Civ, and 33% faster on Epic speed, so if you play a Large or smaller map on Marathon or Epic speed, you may want to leave Raging Barbarians off.

If you turn it on, expect to spend quite some time figuring out how to deal with all the barbarians, often coming from all different directions and all at once, requiring that you make careful use of all the tools available to you.

With these settings combined with FA, you should have a lots of potential for a big, interesting game.



Iconian's Really Huge Map Size Mod , my mod that increases the size of Huge maps by about 80%. I didn't include this with FA because, for one, all computers may not be able to handle such a large map, and even if they can, players may not want to automatically use them with FA. So I'll leave this up to each player:
