When you say a player's zone is gray, do you mean that their play zone on the board is gray? or their hand zone is gray?
Yeah, three zones were of the colors of three players, and the fourth zone was grey/white and didn't have that circular "marker" of sorts. (that's for all bases)
Here, I managed to recreate the situation in Hotseat (the actual problem happened in multiplayer, so it's not hotseat-specific):

EDIT: If you add me on steam we could go over this in the chat if that's more convenient.
However if you pickup the base card and drop it into the snapped tile location it then works out all the tokens and cards.
Are there any other details you can provide? Does it only happen occasionally? Does it happen to all players in the game?
I'm pretty certain I have identified the cause of the bug, and fixed it. Please let me know if you continue to have issues with using 4 players.
oh brother! lol. ok, was this for every turn or just one time? what color was the player? what turn order did they have (first, second, third, etc player)?
FYI: players can also use the "TURNS" panel in the upper left to pass turn to other players.
Though not always, so I'm not sure what exactly is the problem. Perhaps they work if they are on top of other tokens.
