Potential MACE merge mod
Hello.
So I've been looking at trying to get units from two mods working together in conquest, when playing as germans.
Specifically MACE and GD Mech.
MACE has an expanded armor roster but GD Mech has some really interesting and great infantry units, as well as overhauling how the conquest mode works.

The goal would be to create a mod that adds the expanded german armor roster into the conquest research tree.

I did some initial testing but my modding skills are so low that I have no idea how to get it to work.

I've been talking to the MACE developers to get some help with what needs to be done.
The files that would need to be modified and merged are;

units_ger.set
inf_ger.set
research_ger.set

I'm starting this topic as a query to see if you would be interested in doing this small mod, and if not, if you maybe could help me figure it out.

Yeah, It's possible. Just adding new vehicles to GD Mech from another mod isn't hard. I would need some confirmation from the modder of MACE that he's ok with it. Is there more from MACE that you would include in the merged mod other than just the vehicles?

It would also depend on whether any of those vehicles use other assets that are not vanilla - like new cannons with new ammo types, etc.

I have written to MACE developer and asked if it is ok.

And regarding if I'd like anything more in the mod. Yes it would be awesome to have USA available as enemy in Conquest. But it feels like the scope of the mod might get out of hand.
I dont want to ask for something that requires alot of work.

I would be very happy with just having the expanded armor roster from MACE. The added German vehicles that is, including the handful of Beutepanzers, if that would be OK.

And well I think that the assets that are used regarding ammo and cannons are mostly vanilla, but there might be exceptions. I think that everything that MACE uses is cooked into the mod atleast. It does not have any dependencies.

Have yet to get a response, the devs are active, I guess theyre not paying attention to the topic.

I mean, I havent been given a direct go ahead, but he talked to me about what I need to mod to get it working, so I dont think there's any problem with doing the mod.

I seconded Maxifier's question in their discord, they just responded and said they don't see any issues with letting you make a compatibility mod!

I've started looking into this, but I probably wouldn't include all the German vehicles in MACE. I'm not opposed to adding some fantasy vehicles like the Panzerjager 1b I added recently, but they need to fill a gap somehow. Also, I wouldn't add a vehicle that's being added to the game via an official DLC, like those American vehicles are now, plus a handful of German ones.

I'll post a list of the vehicles that seem to fit this requirement when I can get around to it, and if we can get official approval from MACE in writing then I'll add them to GD Mech.
