stoneborn clans on mountains
is there anyway their bases could only spawn on mountains? that would make sense for dwarves

It's absolutely disgusting what Tolkien did, that people think this.
Dwarfs have always lived in hills, swamps, bogs, burial mounds, basically anywhere there could be a small pile of rocks. The association was with stones, not mountains. Then some hack writer comes along a thousand years later and says "no, only mountains!" and everyone just gobbles it up. Pathetic.

yeah, they dont only live in mountains. A lot of them actually live in mounds on the surface
