Maybe you could model the limbs to have flesh at the part that was dismembered?

Make the limbs and torso more bloody and add guts hanging from the torso. Those globs of flesh that flies all over doesn't look very good.

I wonder, have you experimented with tweaking the blood particle size at all? I'd love to see a variation with a more subtle/ smaller particle effect of much the same style, for a slightly less cartoony but equally gory effect.

To make it look less like it's raining bloody marsh-mellows.
This mod is amazing. The only complaint I have is that it is a bit over-the-top. It doesn't feel right when the pistol blows heads off Combine.

Hey, in order to address these issues, I'll add an option to change the particles used by the dismemberment through a console command value (which will get executed automatically with a .cfg). I'll drop in some more particles, so that you guys could have something to choose from.

Hello, why does the map of other creative workshops load infinitely when I open it?

I have managed to test it on a few , like RED DUST and Fire Flight bot have high bodycounts. Mod seemed seamless!

Hey,

Thanks for the feedback, but what maps specifically are causing you problems?

Have you tried disabling all other mods?

Aren't you by chance experiencing the "Mongoose" error - which you can check by looking at your main monitor, where an error message poped-up(if the Alyx window has priority, it might be hidden behind it)?

I added few more particle options in this testing version here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2904827638

If all testing goes well, I'll update the main branch with these additions, so let me know if everything is working correctly.

The new particles are either using the more expensive fluid simulation or use Sprites instead of models, so that it'd look less "chunky", though I personally still prefer the original over this.

Currently, the mod feels very draftish – the blood sprites are bad and cartoonish, the flesh is too inappropriate.

Hey, are you talking about the main or "beta" version?

If about the beta, I recommend to choose only the option that fits you the best, as some of the particles using sprites are expected to be dated, as they're reminiscent of something you'd see in games like L4D2. The fluid particles are certainly the most realistic, but there's always a performance cost, which is why cheaper variants were often chosen instead.
I'm really not a very good particle artist, but the system should support any particles to be used for the blood, even from custom addons, so that's also a possibility.
