Minor issue with dripper and double beds (GOG User)
As I have the GOG version of Rimworld I can't leave comments on workshop items or I would have just left one.

The dripper when next to a double (or larger) bed only feeds the person on the side of the bed it is next to and you can only have one attached to the bed. As a result you must choose what side of the bed you want autofed.

A quick test changing the attached limit to 2 allowed one on either side of the bed thus feeding both people in the bed. I don't know if this leads to any issues just that it allowed feeding everyone in the bed as long as there is a dripper on the corresponding side of the bed.

I've had this same issue recently, and since many of my colonists want double beds, it makes it less useful than it's supposed to be. I effectively have to choose which colonist gets fed each night.
same here, can only feed one

May I ask how you changed the attached limit
The Old One 10 Mar, 2023 @ 4:57pm
3 options for changing the limit

Easiest is use this mod and change it in the settings
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2739581441

next option is to open the file RimWorld\Mods\2920385763\1.4\Defs\ThingDef_Buildings\Buildings_Production.xml
search for "maxSimultaneous" then change that to 2

last option is to make a patch mod to change it at load time.

thank you so much, I feel kinda stupid not thinking about a mod. You're a paste saver

Thanks for raising this issue as it answered a question for me, "could I feed prisoners at night by just putting a drip feeder next to their bed"

I've been using the meal provider thing and it's annoying as the food rots so much.

Obrigado!

can someone tell me how exactly the feeder is supposed to be placed? I've tryed "overhead", one side sleep accelerator (which works on both pawns in double bed) and on the dripper, which didn't seem to work at all. Then I tried "end table style", so by the side next to the pillow. Again it does not really seem to do much. One pawn I thought "hmm wasn't she more hungry before? but she isn't full fed either..." and then another I really spectated whole night... got up with 10% hunger. That was end table style on the same side where the dripper was standing.
Pipe network does work, a npfeeder on the same pipe does work. The drippers always tell me how much meals in the network, but consumption is always at 0.

EDIT: ok I've just used "Character Editor" on a sleeping pawn to lower their food-level (a.k.a. increasing their hunger). Once again, "end table style", pawn on the same side as dripper. Sleep accelerator "overhead style" on the other side of the double bed, still working.
The dripper waits to a certain threshold - I guess until the nutrition level of the piped meal matches the hunger - and then feeds like eating normal. That's not a "dripper", that's a chute.
That helps in a way that no gourmand will starve during their sleep again... but unless that threshold triggers seconds before wake up, the pawn still will be half fed or not fed at all when waking up.
Especially in combination with sleep accelerator or any other "hunger rate increase" (like some modded (?) healing psycasts), I would rather spend more nutrition in my pipes to keep them at 100% Food for how long ever they will sleep, so when they wake up, even in emergency draft, they will be full fed.
And of course there is a fix for double beds needed. And it shouldn't be 2 drippers because then you're missing out on end table comfort bonus.

How do you guys see that?

I do feel having one dripper servicing bolth sides of a double bed would be better but also understand the reasons for how it's being done. If 1 dripper fed the entire bed than 1 dripper with the modded 20 person bed would be enough for your whole colony. Also the end table and dripper both should work "overhead style" and the sleep accelerator should work "end table style" so you could have 2 drippers and 1 sleep accelerator and 1 end table but only one end table not one of each modded one.
The Linkable Settings mod I linked can be used to change end tables to also work at the foot of the bed to work around that if you wanted that.

The pipe network technically supports pulling partial resources so a version of the dripper that draws 1/18 of a meal to feed a custom meal to the person in the bed can be made and I have made one that feeds baby food when attached to a crib as part of the NPDTiers/Vanilla Nutrient Paste Expanded addon (posted on github as I can't post it to steam workshop having only the GOG version of Rimworld) I could possibly add a version that fed baby food to anyone in any bed at 85% food keeping them topped all night but with the bad mood from eating baby food or create a custom meal to feed without the mood debuff.
It needs NPDTiers - The Nutrient Paste Expansion Mod (Continued) to work and you can find a link to the github page in the discussions.

Hello, while I understand the appeal of having only one dripper feeding both pawns, there is currently no plan on changing this behaviour. You will need two drippers to feed both pawns.
The Old One 5 Apr, 2023 @ 3:13pm
The issue is there can only be one per bed ATM so either the max per bed needs to be changed to allow 1 per occupant, leave as is thus have it impossible to feed both people or least likely option for many reasons allow 1 to feed all.

Should be fixed in the new update. Follow up in the comments.
