Noble Overstaying Welcome

So, I invited a noble to visit my base and let them stay past the point of the shuttle leaving. I didn't get a notification that the shuttle left, and no mention was made that the shuttle would leave. Yes, I'm aware that most shuttles leave after 3 days. Is there a way to get the noble to leave without a... tragic accident?
