Sid Meier's Civilization V

Sid Meier's Civilization V

Iska's Additional Diplomacy - All in One + Putmalk's C4DF
Better responses to the AI's request of you moving your troops away from their border
When this happens, the game only gives you two options:

Immediately declare war
Promise that you're not going to declare war

The problem is that for some reason you HAVE to make a promise, and one that apparently all other nations have their eyes on, lasting for a lengthy 50 turns on normal speed.

Personally, I think that a third option should be added to not make any promises at all. This would still hurt relations with the civ that made the request since you're refusing to calm tensions, but because you're not putting your reputation on the line with a promise, it wouldn't affect relations with anyone else, even if you did declare war on that civ shortly after.

Additionally, it would also be cool to be able to make the same request of the AI whenever they have THEIR troops on your border. I don't know how easy to implement that would be though.

These are just my ideas. :) Thank you so much dev for making this amazing mod pack, diplomacy is my favorite part of playing civ and it has made me so sad seeing it so under-developed on the workshop for so long.

Well, this is a feature of Putmalk's C4DF, which isn't actually something I made, just included in the mod. Not that it would be impossible to change, I'm just less familiar with the code. In fairness to the mechanic, when you ask the AI to move its troops from your borders, it would need a third option too, which would mean some AI work.

I think I've had the exact same thought at some point or another, but there's a couple of actual bugs with C4DF (Option for DoF when already DoF, issues with map/vassalage trade value, issue with allowing vassalage trading I applied a band-aid fix to) I'd fix first before I started doing gameplay tinkers, I think.

Also thanks for your kind words dude, it's really cool knowing other people actually play whole games with my mods <3

Oh you're right, that is already a feature in C4DF. My bad! I wish I knew that sooner, haha.

I know exactly those bugs you're talking about, really annoying when the AI unconditionally accepts all peace deals that they become your vassal in. Also vassals seem to only give 1% of their science? I thought they were meant to give 10%. Very buggy indeed. I wish you luck! I'll be looking forward to when you fix that old mod, as well as when you make any new mods. Really good stuff.
