Hey!
Yeah I'm not entirely sure what causes this error, but there's another 1-2 discussion threads that also mention this. It seems to be somewhat rare, which makes it hard to troubleshoot lol.
Yes, if you import the save, it should fix it entirely.
import didn't fix it, what other possible solutions?
Hmm, I'm guessing that forcing the dog into a bed (sleeping bag, bed at the inn, etc.) doesn't fix it either? For a test, put them in a bed and if you have RE_Kenshi installed, try setting the fast forward to like 50x or something to see if it eventually goes away? Also for a test, see if Dismissing them will fix their -1 number. You don't have to worry about saving or anything, since I'm just seeing what possible things would fix it.
It's very odd because others have reported the same occurrence (Skeletons in XYZ area) hitting them into a negative number. I'm not sure what would even cause that, really, as it's not like a "special attack" or anything. It's a seemingly rare occurrence though, otherwise I'd imagine a lot more people would report it.
An import should've definitely fixed it though, since that resets pretty much everything as far as I'm aware. Could you possibly upload the save somewhere (Google Drive, or anywhere I can easily download it). If you have discord, you can message me @IgorDolvich and I can take a look like that too.

You can also *probably* fix it by using the FCS (Forgotten Construction Set mod tools) to manually edit the save to fix the broken limb. Do be extremely careful doing this though, as it can be pretty devastating otherwise lol. Make a backup of the save before editing to be safe.
I had to fix something similar with the Ironsides that would do something like 500+ damage in an AOE (through armor lol) in the "Giga Patch ONE". If I can find what it is, I can probably push it out in the same patch.

it was something like 2 billion of damage at a minus rate, several times in a row, i didn't really understand how it all happened because it was in a heat of a battle and all of the skeletons looked quite normal when i examined them...
the problem is that i just started a new game, and i can’t share the save because i always usually play on one quicksave and autosaves (accordingly this one was lost since i started ng), but i faced this bug not only in venge, also from an ordinary guard in the hub later. this time it happened to a regular character, not an animal.
i will contact you if this happens again and provide all possible information with saves/anything you need. thought that this might be needed, but for some reason i decided not to save, it was purblind
No problem, this is kind of what I thought. It's doing an Overflow for the damage for whichever reason, which could be caused by few things (typically if something hits over the upper limit of what is possible, it'll overflow beyond and do weird things like negative damage, etc.).
For the save, if it happens again let me take a look. No rush, can always post it in this thread and I'll get a notification.
Thank you for the report, and for clarifying it's more than just Skeletons as well. It could be any number of things, with Kenshi being Kenshi lol.
Don't reload mid game, exit out fully to reload a save. If you consistently load in, reload, save, reload, etc. then all sorts of weird things can happen with the Game Engine. This is a known issue with Kenshi, but is more common with a lot of mods.
Below is a guide by Shidan which goes over how to fix "bad zone data", but it can manifest in many different ways (duplicating items, weird NPC behavior, random crashing in the *same* spot, etc.) just based on my experience and troubleshooting broken saves/odd behavior. Might not be the cause of the overflow issue, but it *could* probably be something similar.

thanks for that, i'll keep that in mind, haven't played for a long time and forgot what Kenshi engine actually is
Thank you! I may need to check it out, glad you told me which one it is (I know the one you're speaking about). It's such a rare issue that it's really hard to pin down to anything in particular, as you can probably read from this thread lol
