I do find it a tad odd that the new space encounter doesn't include any field of enemies to go through. I can understand if it was a conscious choice, but it does feel a bit odd that your mech just pops right next to the asteroid with little to no real use for it outside of entering the base.

I felt the same way. I was sort of expecting it to automatically connect it to a space hazard zone from the template I had used - when it didn't and the mech just landed outside the asteroid I was like "Huh, yeah, I guess that's fine."

I may add approach hazard zones to it in the future, but personally I don't think those are very fun, so it's a low priority change haha

Ah, fair enough, I personally don't mind the hazard zones myself, but to each their own :P
What would be the best way to find the Eye Poker? Drill spears are rarer than hen's teeth :winter2019sadsnowman:

@Lazarus
I think in 1.4 the only way to get the Eye Poker normally is from the Irisa merchant at the outpost.

In the upcoming 1.5 update it will also be available as a reward from completing the new dungeon. The Eye Poker's damage and flurry rate has also been rebalanced, along with the dandruff augment.

Several players have mentioned the Drill Spear being difficult to acquire as a crafting ingredient in the Discord server too, so I am hoping that adding it as loot to the new dungeon will help with that.

The large storage lockers in the cockpits of tier 6+ (Extreme) hostile ships are your best bet to find a Drill Spear in vanilla.

More info on Drill Spear:

In vanilla gameplay, the Drill Spear is inside the spaceWeapon treasure table.
The spaceWeapon treasure table is a 2% pull rate from the rareSpaceItem table.
The Drill spear is only available on a 33% chance in the spaceWeapon table from tier 6+ space anomalies.
Thank you for the information!

Is the merchant incompatible with the Anom's Outpost Overhaul?

If so is there a way to access the merchant separate from the outpost?

There is not cross-compatibility for Anom's Outpost Overhaul in Project Irisil.
The merchant can be spawned and placed like most other merchants though.

I noticed a chest in the eyeball space encounter under the frogs house and I’ve been racking my brain how to get to it. Been searching for a switch to open it but the only switch I’ve seen is the one that turns off the kitchen light. I guess what I’m gonna ask, is that purely decorative or is there a button I’m not seeing because I’ve scoured that place from top to bottom multiple times?

Look carefully at the supports beneath the dock.

Well I appreciate the answer back but I combed those supports just now and don't see anything. My guess maybe I got a mod conflicting somehow or I'm just blind lol. Thank you for the response though. Luckily with RPG Growth I can just teleport in there now.

The support beams are held up by rails, not solid blocks. You can just morphball underneath the dock.

You blew my mind... I didn't even consider that holy heck. Thank you
I hate to bother anybody, I was curious how the /spawnmonster lofty_irisil 10 '{"colors" : "default"}' command exactly worked, wasn't sure if there were already preset hues or you can pick any hues you want as I never seen a command like this before, an example on how its done will really help, thank you, sorry if it was a painfully obvious command

The "default" is the name of one of the color presets that Starbound uses internally.
When you unpack the game's assets, you can find the color presets in the monsters/generated/colors folder. Some example palette names are "alien", "arctic", "garden", "magma", "snow", and "toxic".

In the Irisil Field Guide there is also an example of the spawn command that will create Irisil with different palettes, color coded to show which parts do what.

/spawnmonster lofty_irisil 10 '{"colors" : "toxic"}'
This would spawn a different colored Irisa.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions \o/
