For the locking mechanism, is it possible to have it where instead of checking for the remote id or however you getting the remote and the controller to sync up, it grabs the SteamID of the user and checks it against an "owner" and "allowed user" list for the gate when they try to use a remote, that way users don't have to worry about your remote disclaimer?

Using SteamIDs is complicated, because the mod can be used on non-steam servers, also, in SP I think the player don't have a SteamID.
But you actually gave me another idea of saving the ownership of a gate, I'll definitly dig into it in the future ;)
The "allowed user" thing may take a bit longer tho. To compensate it, I'll probably keep the check for the controller in the player inventory

Hey man, thank you so much for making this mod and the time spent working on improving it. I'm not sure if it's possible at all, but is there any way to make the gates open and close automatically based on player proximity? I know there are other mods that have proximity sensor for noise generators and explosives, but wondering if a sensor could work on something like a gate or door. Thanks again sir!

This is actually in the Planned features list ;)
I'm not 100% sure it can be done, because the vanilla bombs work in a weird way, but it is definitly on the TODOs list!

To be honest, I don't even know if it's possible.

I am used to playing games with a controller. So I can't use the gate controller through the hotbar.

I noticed that flashlights can be operated to switch on and off the power supply through a circular menu when playing through the controller. Can you enable the remote control to perform similar functions? I think the controller player would be very grateful to you

I thought that the Controller would show up in the radial menu no problems, but thinking more, it makes sense, as that menu is only for weapons. I'll try to hook into it to show up the Controller ;)

Just updated and added compatibility with the gamepad. Use the left DPad radial menu. The Controller still needs to be attached to the Belt.

Add the ability to use motion sensors to the gate as an alternative to the controller along with cordless phones as a way to lock\unlock the gate.

This would give these 2 items an actual use "if" nothing else can use them which could vary on game setup.

Is it possible to make the gate motor to run on electricity (from generator)? Or at least charge the battery when inside the box (and generator powered on)? I'm using it on multiplayer with 5 players living at the same base, the car battery runs out of charge too fast...

in the sandbox settings, you can change the battery usage from 100 to 300, it would be nice to have the maximum be a lot higher though
