Also maybe common diabetic emergency supplies like Glucagon and the... orange tablets.
maybe some other sugar gel or the ShotBlok type snacks for dealing with lows in bad situations like combat or evasion.
Love the work by the way, really puts into perspective just how screwed we are in a situation like Zomboid. :)
Thanks for the feedback! :)
Seems like insulin pumps where made widely available in the 1980's, so that's definitely something I'll add!
On the topic of additional UI elements (having the monitor/pump show up as in, for example the IMR mod), I'll have to do some research on how to implement this. Should not be too much work as numerous mods do this and I should be able to draw inspiration from them.
Glucagon, glucose gel, and dextrose tablets will be added. I think that it's a very nice addition as I feel it's kinda hard to deal with low BS at the moment.
Updating the main thread in order to reflect your suggestions.
Again, thank you for the feedback!
Maybe sugar levels tie to hunger and thirst endurance and even fatigue would be nice too. High blood sugars tend to make you thirsty and I mean REALLY thirsty and can make one tired. Lows can make you feel like you could eat an all you can eat buffet out business and make you feel tired in a different sense not sleep but like you ran a mile in 3 minutes.
I have a few more ideas to and would be more than happy to help if wanted! :)
Hi! The BS mod already takes hunger and thirst into account. Primarily, if you get low BS, you get hungry; if you get low BS, you get thristy. The mod is still being developed even though no updates have been announced or released. It's, sadly, a slow process, as I am only one dev, but I am working on it, but I also want the next iteration to be as good as possible.
Good point!
I've been lazy in updating this mod, but I'll be revising it going into next year, as it has gained some traction.
Merry Chris and Happy New, everyone!
• A pouch for medical equipment would be quite cool, idk if either of you are diabetic (if not its very well detailed) but they often come with the blood sugar tester and are often plain black, wallet sized bags with a zip, would add a bit of immersion for just being a small container
• Being dirty could sometimes cause the blood testing to display blood sugar a small amount higher, being able to completely eradicate this using the alcohol wipes that are already in the game — may not be worth adding due to small impact
• Having cold feet could remove the feet info on the health panel, meaning that you cant see the codition of them, could be hard to implement however as it would require dynamically editing vanilla ui elements for quite uncommon occurences, would also remove pain moodle for feet if they are cold
