AI Button System How To’s - Please Read
Diamondback AI Battlefield introduces a brand new AI spawning system that I have got working. It allows players to enable and disable each and every squad that is flown into the map on dropships, that is spawned near the bases, and every AI vehicle that takes part in the battle. This also includes the enabling and disabling of a bonus Flood faction that drops Infection Forms from the central cliffs - which if you guys like, I will expand upon in the future. Here is what each and every button does inside the top of the central cave.

  • A solid and intermittent flashing GREEN button indicates the squad is disabled and ready for activation.
  • A solid YELLOW button indicates the squad is enabled and in use.

Covenant Controls:

When facing the Covenant base, you will see 4 buttons. Looking left to right:

1 - Grunts and Jackals Phantom drop.
2 - Elites and Bonus Ghost drop.
3 - Camouflaged Covenant SpecOps team.
4 - Hunter and Wraith Phantom drop.
5 - Drone Phantom Drop

*Numbers 1-4 are enabled by default. Drones default to OFF.*

Across the entrance on the perpendicular wall, you will see 2 additional buttons. These control the spawning of the Covenant’s vehicles. Again, looking left to right:

1 - The Ghost that spawns at the Covenant base.
2 - The Spectre that spawns at the Covenant base.

*Both of these are also enabled by default.*

Covenant Quick Response Controllers:

At the Covenant base, there are two brand new switches placed for your use. These controllers call back the initial squads placed at the beginning of the match. These Covenant troops will not respawn once killed, and are replaced by Phantom deployed reinforcements. The switches manually respawn them, once per press. So, when in the lowest room facing out towards the base exterior:

Left Side Button - Replace the Initial Grunt/Jackal squad
Right Side Button - Replace the Initial Elites

Press these buttons once, and your corresponding squad will reappear. The switch will turn green automatically once the squad has been eliminated, You are now free to use it once more.

UNSC Controls:

Now, when facing the UNSC base, you should see a set of 3 buttons. These control the Pelican deployed forces. Looking left to right:

1 - Marines Pelican drop
2 - ODST Pelican drop.
3 - Spartan Pelican drop
4 - Scorpion Pelican drop

*Numbers 1 and 2 are enabled by default. 3 and 4 default to OFF.*

Similar to the Covenant side having vehicle control buttons, the UNSC has the same. You should see 2 buttons on the side wall to the left of the 3 UNSC infantry controllers. Again, from left to right:

1 - Warthog Chaingun or Gauss that spawns at the UNSC base.
2 - Mongoose that spawns at the UNSC base.

*These buttons are on by default*

UNSC Quick Response Controllers:

Just like the Covenant base, the marines placed at the beginning can also be called back at will anytime by the player. These troops will not respawn once killed, and are replaced by Pelican deployed reinforcements. The switch manually respawn them, once per press.

Right Side Button - Replaces the initial Marine squad.

Bonus Flood Controllers:

A third button is located inside the cave, on a yellow and black striped wall near the upper man cannon. This will unleash the Flood Infection Forms if you so choose to enable them.

A fourth button is located inside the lower central cave, after the man cannon. This switch enables the deployment of Flood Dispersal Pods. These will drop all across the map at random intervals, transporting a large variety of Flood squads to the battlefield.

*These switches default to OFF. Be aware, the AI engine can become very stressed with these guys, plus all other squads enabled at the same time. Your mileage may vary!*

I hope everyone enjoys the new amounts of control this gives you guys!

At the beginning of the demo video, you can see the locations of the buttons. At 0:04 seconds, the Covenant control switches are shown. UNSC buttons are shown at 0:06. At 0:08, UNSC vehicle controls, followed by Covenant vehicle controls are displayed. The Flood switch is past the vehicle controls, on the opposite wall inside the cave.
