Suggestions
What I will NOT add:

  • Xenomorphs
  • Mod dependencies
  • Furniture for the crafting of the items
  • Direct variations of the same gun that only add attachments(Like the ones in EK or Saber Armaments that require crafting laser sights and flashlights INTO the weapon.)
  • Melee weapons

What I WILL add:

  • More guns
  • More features for existing guns (as long as they don't require an overhaul of a vanilla functionality)
  • Guns that encompass other roles such as DMRs, LMGs, HMGs, CQC. (For that I will add entire new guns)
  • Husked variations of all weapons.
  • Direct variations of the same gun that make the gun a tad bit more interesting (Like the husked variations)
  • Armor (Only if there are enough sprite sources)
  • Confetti ammo

Hello ! I really, REALLY like this mod, I absolutely love the aesthetic of the Alien franchise. But, of course... the balance of this mod does prevent me from using it in my campaigns xP

So I wanted to know, are you planning on ever trying to nerf the weapons to a reasonable level, or are they meant to be overpowered ? And if you don't, would it be fine for me to make an add-on nerfing them ?

Additionally, do you currently have any plans for adding a smart rifle ?

Hello. Firstly I would like to thank you for liking the mod, it's a simple passion project of mine that I made during my free time.
Although there are few plans, I struggle to find enough time to make changes to the mod, but I might return to it once I gather enough ideas for an update.
The mod was initially made with the simple goal of adding a single particularly overpowered gun that fit my tastes in firearm design so it could pair well with my ultramodded campaign as the primary of choice of my one-man-crew. I found out that the comically large rifles and stupidly high damage rates were very fun to use when you had to clear out a pirate outpost, so the most effort I did to "balance" the mod was to make the materials for them really endgame, even though it is possible to just buy the weapons through vendors.
Funnily enough, I never realized how oversized the sprites were up until very recently when I revisited my ultramodded save, I might tune it down some day.

Feel free to make an add-on to nerf the weapon as it would be quite helpful for players and myself.

I am really not sure what you mean exactly by "smart rifle".

Hahahah, I see ! Honestly it's fun that the guns are oversized, and it somehow isn't even too shocking for Barotrauma I feel. I'll probably make the add-on in the near future, and let you know when that's ready ! And if you ever need help doing any work on the base mod itself, you can ask me if you want, I might just be able to lend a hand.

Smart rifle isn't a great term for it actually, you're right. I was talking about guns like the M56 Smartgun, you know, Vasquez's gun ! It technically is used with a harness, but I don't even know how to start implementing that part, soooo...

hello i really like this mod but, me and my friends sometimes feel it can be a bit underpowered compared to another gun mod we are having (deep sea warfare) i wanted to know if there was a way to make a more powerfull version or if there was a way to modify the files and upload them, i never modded before so i'm not sure. also i wonder if you ever will add the underbarel grenade luncher mode for the pulse rifle it would be really cool! thanks again for putting one of the best assault rifle in sci-fi in this game

Genuinely surprised that my mod could ever be labeled as underpowered cuz I remember really sending the numbers up when I wrote the damage values. :barotrauma:
Though I may see if I can change the damage values further without making them absurdly overpowered as other users have pointed out, perhaps the issue is that the weapons in Deep Sea Warfare are the outliers. :think_her:
I also suggest using the husked variants since those are the ones I truly didn't even try to balance.
On the grenade launcher, I have plans to add it since the script for secondary weapons has been made before, but due to personal reasons I am not sure when I will find the time to upload the changes. :os_ram:

thanks for seeing my message. well after a lot of testing the weapons, (especially the m41a) one of our main issue was the ammo capacity with 31 rounds the gun at least in the movies held 99 i get this is for the sake of balance of course. i didnt really wanted to bother you with all those stat things as you surely have better things to do, but i tried to modify the mods stats but just ended breaking the mod lol. but thanks for replying!
edit: i just saw it is the m41a2 rifle, this one doesnt have 99 round it has 60 my bad
