"Sow over sown" identical to "allow cutting" vanilla gizmo
I can't believe I made this oversight; the vanilla "allow cutting" gizmo is essential the same as the "sow over sown" gizmo I've added in this mod. As I've never really used the allow cutting gizmo in the past, I did not know it's basically the same... people can expect the sow over sown gizmo to likely be removed in the future, unless someone can think of a use for it beyond the current use of "allow cutting".

If you disable allow cutting, will they still harvest stuff if it reaches 100%? I have never tried it with the stuff you actually grow in the field, but I know the following case:

Disable allow growing and enable allow cutting: Trees and bushes that are fully grown will be harvested
Disable both: Nothing will be done

As such, there certainly should be a difference: Disabling sow over sown should mean they won't remove other plants UNLESS they are fully grown and ready for harvest

Edit: Checked the Tooltip:
They will only harvest what is currently being "growing". But we would want the remaining plants from the old growth to also be harvested when it is ripe. Your button is very much needed thus.

As of right now I'll take your word for it lol; I am more worried about adding other functionality before REMOVING unnecessary functionality. Thanks for investigating, though!

Tried playing around with it a bit and yeah, can confirm that the vanilla behavior without allow cutting is utterly useless: Grass and Trees are not cut. Ripe old plants are not harvested.

Is it really the same? I assumed that your gizmo was filtered to apply to crops. Certainly it seems that way, with "Sow over sown" off but allow cutting on, they will leave old crops but still clear grass and trees. With both off they won't cut grass that's in the way. At least I'm pretty sure that's how they are behaving, it's not always the easiest to tell when they have minds of their own.
so should i turn off allow cutting or sow over sown?
Hey, well for 1.6 it is not the same. The default "allow cutting" will disable removing other crobs if you change crobs yes, but will also disable harvesting of fully growns crops. That's something I wish for "Sow over sown"=disabled to happen so I would be more than happy if this comes to 1.6 <3
