welp...I really like this one, but it's broken.
I hope one day ya's finish it.
I'm up to the boss of the rust stilettos, and whenever I kill him, he just falls over and i stay stuck in combat mode and can't progress any further.

also wondering if you coded in the secret nuyen if the player has jetboy in the party...
another thing, the prices of the weapons in the shop seems super cheap, I was able to buy out the whole shop and had money left over just from the arena.
also the enemies...seem way too easy...most of the time i have 99% to hit them, but maybe they get harder later? the rust stiletto boss was the first true challenge for me

also the AI is really buggy, most of the enemies just stand there and let me shoot them or they run in the opposite direction, but i'm sure you guys knew that.
I know what "alpha" means.

@FeMaiden (Iron Maiden fan?) -
Hmm... People had reported some issues with the Rust Stiletto boss before but then we fixed them... Any chance you remember how you killed him? We did find a couple points where killing someone is a specific way prevented triggers from working correctly (for instance when they die from on going damage on their turn)

The secret nuyen has logic in there. Perhaps it is interfering with the boss death...
Yeah, the weapon prices are something we are thinking about. Odds are we will further reduce the arena winnings.
We definitely need a balancing pass to toughen up the enemies. The random mooks which spawn outside should be easy, but we need to make sure other places aren't... How much karma and what skills are you at?
The AI has been really frustrating. I still have no idea why some of them run away even when they are explicitly given the order to attack. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a missing checkbox or too low perception or something else completely silly.
Thanks for the comments!

Any chance you can grab a data dump of what happens when you kill the Rust Stiletto's boss?
Instructions are in this post https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/filedetails/discussion/317632217/613936673572793839/

hmm...i'll see if I can get a data dump. but for the time being, here's the best way i was able to describe it.
the first time i went in, it we jake and jetboy. i had jetboy hiding at the entrance because he gets his butt kicked.
jake was to the right side of the doorway, just before the final room. the boss had rushed out at jake and had him pinned in the corner and he just blasted away until the boss fell over...and then nothing, combat just continued but there was nothing left to kill.
i reloaded an earlier save and went back in without hiring jetboy, i did it with jake solo. got all the way therough, opened the final door and all the enemies rushed out and jake killed them all and then the boss and ...nothing.
maybe it has to do with that toxic barrel and the DoT's i dunno, but i'm pretty sure it took like 6 turns to kill all the guys the DoT should have worn off.

as for the "mooks" i suppose you may be right, they should be easy. when i first started, jake could do 6 damage and each enemy has 10 hp, so he could kill a guy in 2 shots, but I did almost die a couple of times from attrition, that first strike the enemies get is brutal. I like how you made the mages actually use magic unlike the snes version lol.
I also like how you added that thing where the ghouls get stronger when you keep killing them.
i remember from the snes version there should be 2 gang members in front of the dark blades mansion and they have a very high armor rating and throw molotovs at you. not sure how to do that in this game though. they also have pretty strong melee attacks so maybe you could give them something like 4 or 5 armor rating and katanas and grenades or something, i dunno.

i leveled up body a couple of times and increased dodgery and pistols.
when i got to the arena, i was able to make it to the gang boss that has a shotgun that shoots 3 times, which is actually where it seems liek a player ought to get stuck. although, in the snes version, i usually get stuck on the samurai until i get the better guns. the king was slighty easier than the samurai which seems about right.
the thing with the arena is some of the enemies just stood there and let me shoot them, they attacked in the first turn then just stood there. mainly the mages exhibited this behavior.
also, the troll decker was super easy once i came back with the ruger gun, in the snes version he's one of the toughest enemies in the game.

ok well just wnet in again, i sent jake in solo, this time, i stood my ground when i opened that last door (also worth mentioning that the door didn't unlock when i killed the crowbar guy, and i had to leave and come back before i could open it)
when i opned that final door, i stood my ground and just shot the crap out of all the guys. i left the barrel alone, did not destroy it. (this is basically how it's done on the snes version...)
i killed the boss and...nothing
here's the file https://www.dropbox.com/s/ddfvh8x35lokdry/1003_00-04-41LongAnalysis.txt?dl=0
I need to look into it... Its been a busy day.
I have found one possible place (so far) which would explain why things would freeze on killing the boss. If he dies to a toxic barrel the trigger would fail.
Also, the barrels. I don't trust them, so I will blow them up.
Found a SECOND place that could screw things up... If the barrels are destroyed before combat ends, it is possible the boss conversation wouldn't enable correctly.
I'm going to do a quick run-through and see if it works for me and then push out the changes.
I've already played through dragonfall twice so i'm not complaining, i was mainly giving you a heads up on things that might be broken in your scenario.
it seems odd that this is broken for me because clearly, other people have gotten past this part
Sorry I was unclear. You had asked in an earlier post if Jetboy would find money. I was answering that. He should.
The toxic barrel comment was because that had caused some people problems in the past. Sometimes they lead to people getting stuck in combat.
That is why its taking so long to figure out the problem. It works for most people, but some, not just you, get stuck.
Assuming you subscribed through steam, it should automatically update the next time you start Dragonfall. You should see a message at the bottom of the screen saying something like "loading content". You can verify the version by clicking on the content button in the menu and then clicking on the module. It should say the version number there.
Let me know if you have any trouble!
it put me back outside when the rust stilletto guy challenges jake and i shot everyone up and then i opened the door and went inside.
did you tweaked the enemy stats a bit?
i killed everyone.
the crowbar guy came out, i killed him and the door opened like it should.
I noticed it looked like you added an item to be picked up on the table in the boss room.
the boss also seems to have a different weapon now he has an smg? I think he used spray and pray, killed one of his own men with the aoe trying to get at me lol.
i ended u haing to take cover and he came out after me.
the only weird thing is when i killed him, the toxic barrel in his room exploded too, and i wasn't even in the room...
but it's okay because his dialogue completed successfully and i picked up the password off the table and everything is good now.
however, i believe a spell called "Blur" does exist.
you tried to emulate jake and kitsune's invisibility spell y giving them a blindness spell which lowers the opponent accuracy, however, the blur spell might be more appropriate but I dunno, i never used it lol
