I am running the linux version of Shadowrun Returns and Dragonfall Directors Cut. I have installed SNES Reboot Alpha by subscribing to it on the Steam Workshop for both versions of the game. Within the two respective games SNES Reboot Alpha is present (Version 3.0.1 Alpha for Directors Cut, and 2.0.5.13 for Shadowrun Returns), but selecting: "New Game" > "SNES Reboot Alpha Version" > "Launch Campaign" > Any of the Character Options > Any Difficulty Setting > Takes you back to the main menu instead of launching the campaign.
If this mod was never intended for use with the linux version of the game, I would be interested in looking into porting it myself. (If someone could point me at the relevant source files. Note: I have no experience modding games, but I do study Computer Science, so I am sure I can figure it out.) Other workshop content that I have tried (like "Cayote's Crusade" and "Shadowrun Unlimited") run just fine on my system, the implication being that this is not a general Workshop content with linux problem.
Possibly some resource, variable, or path is different for the linux version. I have not found a physical location for SNES Reboot Alpha content (or any other workshop content) within the installation folder of either version of the game. Either this content is distrubited in a non intuitive way within the folder, is located somewhere else entirely, or it failed to download properly. If someone could point me at the location of relevant game files for SNES Reboot Alpha (on a windows machine or otherwise) I could start investigating why the game does not launch.
Any help is appreciated.
I will copy over the thread that explains that from the old workshop item to this one. I will also add an explanation in the intro scene.
Thanks for reminding me.
first of all thank you kindly for the recreation of this masterpiece.
Additionally I have two bugs to report:
At the dog shrine, if I enter and have the requirements for him to appear, go outside and enter again two dogs are available. I accidently got two healing spells this way.
The second bug is in draketower, second floor, "If this is your only option, please let us know."
I got the uniform on the first floor and hacked the terminal. On the second floor I tried to acces the terminal on the left, but were stopped by the guard. So I knocked the guard on the right and got some data. Now I can't use the terminal on the left again.
edit:
I got the same message on the third floor and I hid someones body in tha bathroom. I do not know whom it belonged to, though.
I'll try and look at this tonight. It should be a pretty obvious logic fix. Thanks.
Drake Tower is what I'm currently working on, so its good to have another set of eyes!
The "costume bug" is frustrating... I'll look at the logic some more to try and find out why it is happening then. I was hoping it was just an issue with loading the scene directly but I guess that's not the case.
I am a little puzzled as to the terminal issue you are describing. Let me make sure I understand.
Let me know and I'll look into it!
Hmm... Sounds like something odd is happening there too if you hid a body but don't know whose. I have some ideas but again I need more info.
Thanks in advance!
