I know this probably won't get fixed but I'm posting it so that other people find this online and know that it's an issue. I have no mod conflicts because I'm relatively barebones.

Colonists will try and refuel fireplaces with any raw resources they can get their hands on, even if all of the available fuel types are turned on or off. I've seen them fuel a hearth with steel ingots and ice.
