does this work with headcrab takeover tho?

Why would it conflict?
There's nothing that can break Headcrab Takeover.

turns out there is, if you have the always use custom bonemerges option on then the zombies will become invisible while in a dynamic interaction

Not really a conflict, just lack of support.

so this doesn't conflict with headcrab takeover unless "always use custom bonemerges" is on?
if so, then i have no problem, since i never turn that on

that option makes it so that the original model stays, so for example if you put alyx and she gets infected then the zombie will use her model
and while in a dynamic interaction that model becomes invisible till death for some reason
