Stealing drop pods from the Empire doesn't provide penalties

Hey y'all, just visited an Imperial settlement and succesfully stole a drop pod. Would like the author to add some sort of penalty for that, or alternatively allow certain imperial titles to lend drop pods/weapons/gear if the author has additional time. By stealing I, of course, mean leaving in an imperial drop pod.
