For sure you need to lock all doors.
As for this mod and AI abilities, I have not much idea how they work.

Can they distinguish light through sheets or not?

Maybe it was them just acting what script tell them to so they enter any building?
I would prefere that agressive AI would be more willing to break into houses where light is on even visible through the sheets. But also would like to have AI that have chance (by percentage) to ignore entering all houses and just roam for a bit, loot 1 house and leave. Or small chance they will stay in one of houses (this one I know exist as mod description mentions this)

What I want to do is and would recommend is to block all windows with planks.
I am early in game so not an expert but from what I see there is a way to craft alarms but not sure if they can be placed in windows and doors. But when bandit want to brek in and trigger alarm that would also make all nerby zombies rush your place.

As of now I am seeking some info on the situation I got into. For the first time I had error window pop in right bottom corner and also icon in the upper middle of the screen showing balaclava with pistol. From the windows upstairs I see some AI just running back and forth randomly, equipped with some spear with some blade on it. I do not want to go and engage as I am not well armed.
I wonder if the robber will stay running like that untill me or zombies kill him or will he leave after some time.
