[B42/B41] Bandits NPC (v2)
Bandits spawn in a stationary position
While playing with Week One (b42), I noticed some bandits spawn and just remain stationary in their position until they spot the player or until he comes close. In that case they attack. I'd assume they are the Wanderer type of bandit but they don't walk anywhere, they just remain stationary. I was still in the first week, on the 5th or 6th day when I noticed it, and I was far away from towns, in a field.

Are Wanderers supposed to physically move around the map or they just spawn like this and wait for the player? The ones I described above were indicated by a red bandit icon with a pistol.

And what does a bandit search party actually do? (the ones indicated by a red bandit and magnifying glass icon) Do they walk around and look for the player?

I changed the clan settings a bit, switched the AI of the first clan (Desperate citizens) from FRIENDLY INDIFFERENT to RANDOM (BANDIT/FRIENDLY), maybe it has to do with that? The guys I described belonged to that clan.

I also have the Bandits Extra Options mod but I doubt it can mess up with the spawning system. I also tweaked some settings there, namely the "Allow raider AI" (set it to on), and tweaked the bandit safehouse generator spawning settting.

The same problem, only on 41b, I hope that the creator or its users will answer these questions

if you can confirm that it happens solely with this mod on, then i will look at it. usually i cannot reproduce players problems because they have another mods and its hard to isolate the problem.

I'm also using Vanilla Vehicle Animations, Detailed Descriptions for Occupations and traits and Bandits Extra Options. Idk which mods the guy above had when he ran into the problem. From all these only the latter might be the cause of that behaviour.

Slayer, are Wanderer bandits supposed to move around the map?

So maybe they are guards? Its one of the AI programs that they may start with. Can be tuned in sandbox settings

I thought about that too, since my AI options is set to BANDIT: RANDOM (NO RAIDER) and Guards is one of the randomly chosen variants. Now that there are icon descriptions, I'll test that further to see how the game identifies them.

So I believe those bandits were Guards who just spawned without a building. Same thing happened to me a few hours ago, they spawned in the street and were sleeping on the ground, and they were marked as hostile guards.
